Just a bit wide all over. Even in a S, I have plenty of room through the waist and mid-torso, as well as a little room in the bust. The hip fits well in a S. I stopped in the local store because I was two doors away. The vest is nice and runs roomy. A small is plenty big on me, so I expect smaller ladies will be sized out. I ended up buying one in the plum color. </p>
