Deborah - it's on the website so I'm sure there must service internationally too. I can't imagine it would just be here. I really love that they service their products. It says a lot about the company that they have a service and how respectful they are when you bring in a repair, which truthfully was unexpected. I expected a sales pitch, my bad! Like EF taking back their clothing and reselling and reinventing those pieces trying for zero waste. Makes you feel really good about loyalty to the brand!!

I wonder if they offer that level of service here? I guess they would. I have one Coach but I don't use it much. I should because it's stunning, and it's certainly something I expect serious longevity from. So glad you were able to give new life to your much loved bag.

Minimalist - I so glad you had a great experience too. 10 years, wow, the little bag thst could!!
Beth - I have a soft briefcase too. They wear like iron and take heavy abuse without complaint. 20 years and chugging is amazing. I hope it gets a well deserved spa treatment. It deserves a little tlc!
Stays fit - I'm sorry to hear that the wallet could not be repaired. I had a beloved wallet and the leather is so much thinner than the bags it literally wore away so was impossible to fix. Bummer. It's not a perfect world but I'm glad they at least try even if they don't always succeed.

They could not fix the zipper of a favorite wallet that I had used for ten years and handed down to my DD who then experienced the broken zipper after another few years. We were both sad.

This is great news! I've carried a black Coach briefcase for the last 20 years. It's still going strong but could use a good polish and some repairs. I think I'll call my local store this week.

Kristen - agree. coach is a really fine brand. Love their products!

Karen - ikr, they are super at repairs, not that we need that many. It's fantastic they were able to match such a big area well for you.

Laura - that's my take too. It's very rare to require repairs with coach but it's so great that they do it. With everyone being more cognizant of their carbon footprint, it's terrific when we can give a piece renewed life and continue to enjoy it

Runcarla - good luck. I do hope it's resolved to your satisfaction. I'm hoping they have a replacement but is this something that could be easily repaired? (not that you might not prefer a new pair without mishap). Keep us updated. I have fingers crossed you experience turns out to be just as good in the end. It's always upsetting when something you liked, need, want, and actually go develops a problem. Fingers crossed!!

Thanks for sharing your story of good service.

I'm currently awaiting an e-mail for instructions on how to return a pair of shoes where one developed a problem due to what I think was a defect when being manufactured (something in the heel pad has shifted and folded over between the layers.) At first I was going to keep wearing them, but then I was constantly thinking about the problem (I can feel it - though it doesn't hurt or rub) then I was going to to toss.

I reach for the shoes a lot, but always feel disgruntled, so after checking my charge card statement (they were almost $200, and purchased 2 months ago) I learned that they were within the 90 day return window for defective items. I would prefer a replacement pair, but may only be able to get a reimbursement.

I'm hopping for an easy return, but so far I'm 2 e-mails into 'talks' with the company returns department.

Good to know! I've had (only) Coach bags for decades and I didn't know that. Of course, with Coach you rarely have anything break in the first place.

I had a lovely Coach brief case years ago that finally gave out under heavy use. The leather side panel ripped. I sent it to Coach and they replaced that section beautifully for a nominal charge. I still have the bag, although I left the corporate world many years ago.

Gail - I did not know that about Henri Bendel. I think it's great when retailers stand behind their merchandise!
Barbara Diane - yup, coach is great!! Happy to have it back!
Marble - No you don't need any receipt, but every coach bag has a logo and there is an interior leather tag sewn in front of the inner zip pocket which has authentication number, which the salesman did look at and put into the system. Their merchandise is quite distinctive anyway. But it was very easy and pleasant.

I just wanted to give a shout out about Coach's wonderful repair service. The side tab (which holds the d-ring) on my beloved Madison Annabelle crossbody bag, which I bought and has been in constant rotation since March 2013, ripped. The bag was otherwise in excellent condition, the lining was perfect, there is some very minor wear and color fade on the edges near the bottom seams. I've never had a more perfect bag - size or compartment wise, and I felt there was significant life left in the bag. I remembered seeing that coach offered a repair service so I brought my bag into my local store. The salesman who assisted me was absolutely lovely. I thought I might get the "stink eye" for bringing in an "old" bag or pressure to buy something new. I could not have been more wrong. He was exceedingly complimentary to the bag, how great it is when customers repair a quality piece, etc, etc. The bag was sent out for replacement of both side tabs and to be conditioned and polished, they do not touch up color though. $35 for everything. I received an email when the bag got to the workshop, an email when it shipped with a tracking number. It arrive in a new dust bag beautifully repaired. I was told repair time could be 4-5 weeks, I had it back in 2 weeks. So if anyone has a coach bag that needs a little TLC, don't forget the company offers this wonderful service for free if the problem is within a year of purchase and for a very reasonable fee at any time after that.
