I think am having better success with patterns than I used to because I'm paying more attention to the cut of the pant, and because I KEEP TRYING. </p> <p>These are the Julie fit Riviera, which I don't usually buy (Marisa often works better despite my curves). I think in this case the Julie cut ensures that the pants aren't pulling so much across the top. In the past, the pattern would look too "stretched" in that area in most pants I tried. I think the Riviera pant is a nice substantial fabric too, which helps to make sure the pants drape well and don't cling.</p> <p>Thanks all for the kind words! I'm very pleased to have a new patterned pant option. My job is crazy right now since my team is short handed for the moment. I’ll try to do a WIW soon. </p> <p>I’m doing a bit of shopping before trying to do a bit of a freeze in April. This will be hard - so much cute stuff in stores! But my budget has taken some hits and I haven’t had time to catch up. It’s mostly due to the holidays and lots of travel, so at least they’ve been “good” hits. I’m traveling more in April, to NOLA, so I’ll be posting about that, most likely!</p> <p>One of my goals has been to find new and different types of pants and jeans than dark skinny ones. Plaid ones of any kind don’t usually work at all, as the pattern usually stretches awkwardly across my hips and thighs. That said, these LOFT gingham pants aren’t awkward on me at all. I think I’m learning what to avoid, or just having better luck, since I also found elusive white jeans this season as well. </p> <p>Anyway, I figured I’d post in case anyone else had the same issues with patterns as me. These are worth trying, if you’re a pear and and like to gingham! This is also a good reminder not to dismiss items out of hand. I wouldn’t have even tried this on a year ago. </p>
