I love their esthetic and mission! Happy the sweater works for you. I had a big brand crush on them for a while

That said, I ordered shirts a couple of years ago and the sizing/fit didn’t work for me or my husband (maybe a size up would have worked for him but he’s never been an XL, not that the number itself is an issue but to give context). For me, the combo of straight fits and thick, stiff fabric that doesn’t drape well wasn’t great - too small in some places but too big in others. To be honest I could kind of tell from the modelled photos that they didn’t cut for my body type, but took a chance ordering due to aforementioned crush.

Anyway, smaller brands especially can’t be all things to all people, just a fit note.

Thanks for sharing this. It is so important to support our Canadian brands and I am making a concerted effort to do so!

I’ve been looking for a ‘boyfriend’ sweater for a while. Something oversized that I can throw on - usually later in the day - when I’m feeling the cold, and need something cosy.

Ordered a sweater from a Canadian company that recycles cashmere and merino, combining it with new merino in order to create new fabric for their garments. The collection is modest - and somewhat rustic. Reviews were good. I bought one of their cashmino beanies a couple of years ago, and it has been my ‘go to’ hat for winter. The sweater is from the same composition of cashmere and merino - however knit in a different pattern.

I’ve worn the new sweater every day since it arrived last week! It’s oh so nice - super soft! I understand that recycled fibres are usually short, and short fibres are prone to pilling. Pilling wasn’t reported much in the reviews though, so I’m optimistic. FWIW, I now own a good de-piller after a favourite coat developed the problem and I decided it was worth the effort of de-pilling to keep it going.

The company is called Anian, and they are out of British Colombia. (I can’t seem to be able to cut and paste…)
