I just watched. Maybe it was just me, but I really disliked Olivier's dress. I thought it would be on the bottom, not the top. Like Janet, I felt it looked too puffy on the model and made her look bigger than she was. I thought the top made her boobs look droopy and all around heavy. I also hated the drabness of the color.

I really liked the rope toy dress, the aquarium rocks dress, and I actually liked the dress with the last-minute skirt made of cat scratching pads--I thought it was a good use of an unconventional material. I liked the birdseed dress as well, but it bothered me that it was really just gluing on muslin (in an admittedly interesting way).

Olivier's fake accent is driving me batty.

I loved Anya's braided top...perhaps it was too conventional a material, given that the leashes were some kind of nylon fabric (guessing?)...

I've been watching and enjoying the show. I liked the aquarium gravel top outfit and the braided top that Anya made was beautiful. These unconvenional materials challenges are so much fun. I don't really enjoy the challenges as much where they are paired up or have to work in teams because there is always so much drama. Those do give us a look at who does the work and at character. Next week should be interesting.

Here was my problem with Olivier's dress -- I thought it seemed too puffy all over. I thought it made his model look bigger than she actually is, and I couldn't believe no one else noticed or thought that.

I was also very disappointed in Bert. He put himself at a serious disadvantage in the future. The judges don't forget stuff like that.

MaryK, LOL. Olivier seems sweet but maybe just a little pretentious? Or maybe like he takes himself just a little too seriously? His accent confuses me, considering his story of where he grew up, and not having moved out of the US until he was 16!

So disappointed in Bert's attitude! He was not likable last night. At all.

Love the Baton Rouge guy and his birdseed dress.

Olivier makes me smile, although I need subtitles for his fake accent. Looking forward to seeing what else he does.

I may have nodded off before the end so I'll have to watch it again before I can comment properly! LOL

So at this point I can only say that I am somewhat nonplused that Olivier pronounces his name like Oliver Twist instead of like Lawrence Olivier. If he's not using that second "i," maybe he can sell it to someone who wants to buy a vowel!

I hopped off the Bert-love train pretty fast this week. Way to come off like a cranky old man! The "unconventional materials" challenge is a PR classic and to not participate at all because he had immunity makes him look really bad. They said he was "lucky" he had immunity, but it was _because_ he had immunity that he copped out. I wonder if he would have put any effort into the challenge if he had really needed to.

I was meh on many of the designs. Completely gluing items to muslin doesn't seem like it takes much effort or unique skill...the only saving grace was the sunflower collar section...that looked like it took actual design skills and some technique. But the rest was just flat birdseed, no? I have to defend the shortness, to some extent. It was obvious the shortness was a result of chopping the grass hem out and being unable to let out the dress to make up for that last minute design change.

I loved last night's show! I totally agree that the birdseed dress was the best and should have won, but I liked the winning look as well. Joshua's colorful top was gorgeous and I wasn't surprised he made it into the top 3. I actually thought it would be between his look and the birdseed dress.

I also loved Anya's look with braided leash top, as well as Viktor's purple dress. I think Viktor has done great looks both weeks and yet has only landed in the middle of the pack. I hope he gets more love from the judges in future weeks.

Heidi looked amazing in both of her outfits and Nina is looking great, too. She just had a baby not long ago and she is my age (44). Heidi is thinner this season and appears to be at "model weight" again. I think she looks fabulous either way, and she always looks healthy and happy, unlike some of the show's models, who look painfully thin. I find myself wanting to feed some of them burgers, and I'm a vegetarian (LOL)!

I am SO happy this show is back on and I always look forward to watching.

Yes, I watched.

I loved the birdseed dress too, but agreed it was TOO short...though I think that about so many of the items on the show. It was a tough call on the winner, but Oliver's taste level won out, I think. I would have actually worn what he made.

April, I liked the cagey top too.

I was SO disappointed in our favorite guy from last week, Bert! He did NOT rise to the challenge at ALL and used his immunity to not really participate and give it his best. Really, Bert, you couldn't be a little creative?? Your making us "102 year old's" look bad!!

On another note, I thought Heidi looked even more terrific than usual in her pink dress and red lips on runway day.

I'm such a latecomer to this show, but have become obsessed with it via Netflix.

Loved the pet store challenge, though I do think the unconventional challenges have a lot more luck involved than the other challenges.

Loved:
-- Birdseed dress
-- Winning dress (though they didn't call Oliver, the way they did some of the others, on his conventional use of fabric for his top, perhaps because the bottom was so offbeat and ingenious)
-- Puppy rope toy dress
-- Danielle's, the one that had a loose, drapey cage-like top in taupe, with gray-blue skirt.

So who watched? I kinda love these unconventional material challenges -- they really push the designers to think creatively. My favorite by far was the birdseed dress.
