Right. I think Bert has a golden opportunity to "rise above it" (as my mother would say), and instead he gave as good (bad) as he got and made himself look bad instead of good.

I'm with you, MaryK, it was pretty egregious - but Bert was a bit annoying how he fixated on those things instead of focusing on the larger goal of the design and working well together.

Talk about horrible errors - I died a little inside when Kim Kardashian said it was The Sound of Music where someone made a dress out of the drapes.

I have to admit, if I had been Bert, my eyes would have rolled out of my head and all over the floor when Viktor mixed up "Victorian" and "Elizabethan." I mean, REALLY? You want to do this for a living and you know THAT little about the history of fashion?

This summer has been my first exposure to Project Runway, and I'm completely addicted! I wait for every Netflix disc like it was oxygen. In general, I cannot bear reality TV, but this is different somehow.

I adored the winning red dress from last night. (If you missed it, you can see all the creations for the stilt-walkers here: http://www.mylifetime.com/show.....ode-3#id=1 )

Bert was definitely cranky and unkind, though I thought he had a point about Viktor confusing "Victorian" with "Elizabethan." Anyone in fashion should know the difference, especially since there were 300 YEARS between Elizabeth and Victoria. But Bert could have been nicer about it.

MG -- Fallene completely illustrated your point about knowing how to sew. It's not enough to be merely creative, or merely technically good. You have to be both of those as well as *fast*. I thought Fallene was adorable and highly creative, but lacking the technical skills she needed. The good news is, those can be taught, so don't give up, Fallene!

I loved the winning red look--so dramatic and beautiful on the runway! I knew at the fabric store that Bert and Viktor were doomed. Nina and Michael both despise burgundy, large upholstery prints like that, and that moire fabric.

I loved the red dress that won too....the way it blew in the wind, with the pants underneath and the shoulder details...beautiful!

I thought Bert and Viktor's entry was hideous. The Bert love train we were on after episode one derailed in episode two and after last night's show, it crashed and burned! Bert, why so cranky?? And Time Gunn, you are amazing how you handle fighting couples! He said: (I'm concerned with this conversation. All ll I'm hearing is "I", not "we")

I have to say too I was worried about Anya after seeing the auditions...sewing being new to her...but that girl has one good attitude, no matter what she is faced with, she seems to have a grace and an ease.

Last night's show was fun, and I enjoyed watching the models on stilts (and Heidi did great with the stilts, too!). I am really not liking Bert and his crappy attitude! I wanted to pull for him because he's older (I'm 45), but now I am totally over him. I was worried that Viktor (who I like) was going to get eliminated, but I'm glad he's still there. I was sad to see Fallene go, though, as she seems so sweet and she did design a very cute hat, but it's a tough competition.

I was happy with the winning look, as I really liked the red. I also liked the green outfit with the one shoulder. Anthony Ryan is my favorite designer thus far, but the competition is still young. I'm glad to see other fans on this forum!

We don't have cable, so this is one show I'm sorry to miss. =( I'm watching some of the seasons on DVD, though . . . I've always hated sewing, but after watching a few episodes, my brain was bursting with outfit ideas that I wish I could make myself!

Enjoy it for me!

MaryK, I agree about Bert's get up... it was ugly fabric but I thought it was very dramatic outside in the wind. Also, it was well executed. They can really sew. That makes a big difference... you can really tell the people who can't sew. They are the first ones out. If you are going on the show, you really need to be "one" with you sewing machine. If I was an aspiring designer, I would get one of those brother machines that they use on the show and start plugging away several hours a day on it. It's great to have big ideas but on this show if you can't execute them, you are out.

Ornella, it is a clothing design competition show. It is my first year watching it but it is the 9th season. It is very popular here in America. They start with a large group of designers. Every week they are given a challenge - one week they had to make an outfit out of their bedsheets and pajamas. Last week they had to gather materials from a pet supply store. This week they had to dress models on stilts. It was very costumy, but fun to see what everyone would come up with!

The get - ups were all costumy last night because of the stilt walkers. I didn't love any of them but I was impressed with how they approached the challenge. I couldn't take my eyes off of Heidi. She looked like she was 10' tall in the black mini, black stockings and black shoes. She looked as tall as the models on stilts!
