What helps me with root lift is to clip the hair on my crown when it is wet. I either let it air dry that way or else blow dry until maybe 75% dry, and then I take out the clips and finish blow drying. I use a spray product from my stylist that goes on wet or dry hair and flip the hair forward to dry it upside down. My stylist taught me a few things: hit with some product and blow dry my hair upside down, concentrating on just the roots. Then after the roots are dry and cooled, flip the hair back over and finish styling the rest. Works every time. Depending on the texture and direction your hair grows, you can also chop in some shorter layers to push the longer heavier part up, but that can also alter the rest of the cut. Just a little dry wax underneath does it for me.
