What about wearing them with a neutral-colored jersey or other stretch fabric mini skirt, possibly the same color as the long top? Then you would feel confident that your rear was covered without breaking up your outfit too much.

Girls, I own at least two baggy sweaters that are definitely oversized (one is a Daddy's Sweater lol).

I would take pictures but they are stored away for the winter season, and even though I took photos of them some months ago for a thread opened by Una, I can't seem to find them.

I don't think I could wear them like the model does, I'd feel very naked.

It would be best if you wore a long top, but since they look thick, you may be able to get away with a normal length top like in the photo (as long as there's no camel toe, of course )

I bought some patterned leggings that I have worn with either a long sweater or blouse. My thumbs are up. I think you can tell what's appropriate--nothing see through, no underwear lines, etc. At some point this becomes a game of semantics--leggings and pants. It really comes down to the quality of the material what is appropriate. I will say the material of mine is not the typical lycra blend but something a bit more sophisticated. I cut out the tag so I can't say what exactly. They have a little bit of soft drape, but very slim fitting and clearly jersey, not woven.

I love the idea however I would want my "tops" to be "tunics" in length anyway.

If you bend over in the pants, are they still completely opaque in the butt? If so, I think you'd be OK in a tunic that covers your butt when standing but not necessarily in other positions.

I'm also in the Leggings Are Not Pants camp. I almost posted this on Links Love the other day. I think this algorithm is right on the money:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/.....58179.html

I vote for wearing leggings with at a minimum a longish tunic.

I just ordered some leggings from Allsaints that I'd wear with tunics and boots if they are substantial enough. Leggings are not pants but skinnies are also not pants to me and I always try to cover myself front and back in both. Love the florals! What's going on with your circulation?

I'm sorry, but I am on Team Leggings Are Not Pants. I think the top needs to be long enough to pass as a dress. Could be a very short dress, but... I'm saying LANP.

JR, my straight leg jeans do not work tucked into boots, even if tight. There's too much fabric on the calf area, yet tight on my thighs. I like them on me, just not with tall boots, more with other shoe types. And they feel as tight as the skinnies. I would have to go for flares, as in real flares (not bootcuts), to relief the pressure, most of my spider veins are on my thighs rather than on my calves.

I might buy these and try them on with a few tops to see how they look. My friend, who was with me, loved them on me and she's a quite modest woman, so I trust her regarding appropriateness. But still... ah, it's leggings, after all. I think I'll have to get around that before I can sport the look.

To be on the safe side, I would want to see these with a longer top than the model is wearing. However, in a dark print in a less than skin-tight size, these might actually approximate pants well enough to work. But we'd really have to see a shot of your rear in them to know for sure. ;o)

Have you tried straight-legged stretch jeans, not too tight? Maybe that would be kinder to your circulation problems than skinnies, while staying close enough to your psychological comfort zone too.

Love the patterned leggings on you, so cute! For those of us over 40 (me), I think a longer, baggy top would be great. I'll keep my eye out for a pair of these for fall

Hey girls,

I'm considering a new option for fall/winter outfits. My plan is to wear more skirts with tights and less skinny jeans so that my blood circulation improves a bit -or at least doesn't worsen even more. Flares are still tight on me on the upper legs, and don't work with my boots -I don't own flat booties, and heeled booties are worn only occasionally, so that leaves me with my two gorgeous pairs of tall boots. I really like the look of skinnies + tall boots because it's so comfy, practical and very flattering on me, so I was thinking about getting some printed leggings and wearing them with a longer top -probably baggy sweaters- and loads of confidence, since my butt it's not going through its best times lol

Would you consider these appropriate? (Photo is the actual pair I tried on)

http://fashiondistinct.blogspo.....inted.html

PS: I tried on a pair yesterday, they were black with huge darkish flowers, a sort of punk style. They were thick enough that you could see no skin through it, I also sized up.
