Thanks, Dimity. Must be tricky to need the rain/snake protection and yet face the lack of breathability in the heat. Your posts clarifies why the one pair of rain boots I have has only been in out a couple of times. Winter is cold and wet; spring and fall can also be that way. If it rains in hot summer, I'll take my chances with other footwear as I can't imagine rain boots in the heat.

I understand their function as gear and also in milder climates than mine. Really like Shannon's examples.

I love rainboots. I have an ankle length zebra pattern pair that are so easy to slip on, and a knee high red pair. The ankle length ones don't give quite as much snake protection, but the taller ones as so hot in summer (country Australia here). Breathability is definitely an issue in hot weather, and they aren't particularly warm in cold weather either. We get most of our rain in the summer and can get 400mm in a day if a cyclone is passing through so rainboots are serious business.

Loving the moto-styled rainboots but just know there is no justification for them in my climate LOL

Love these, Shannon. Literally eye candy. Thanks for sharing.

Someone who wears them- tell me how they are IRL? Are soles cushioned and is breathability an issue? Do they work for lower volume feet and ankles? Do knee high ones make sense for city and suburb wear or is mid-calf height?
Haven't worn them in ages and was wondering what YLFers think.

Thanks!

Super cute! Love shape of #1 and colors of #2 and #4. Sometimes I have trouble with normal rainboots sitting funny and buckling over my wide calves, so I've been eyeing these Tretorn lace-ups for awhile. Not sure about heeled (wedged?) rain boots, though...maybe harder to play in the puddles.
