*happy dance*

Jaime, when we were in Europe last year in June (for the entire month), the DAYTIME temperatures ranged from 18 to 33 degrees Celsius. The forum urged me to bring my trench coat - which I did, and wore twice - and it was VERY worthwhile just for those cool days.

Happy (belated) Birthday, beautiful Shevia. Your cake looks so yummy and all your outfits are wonderful. I really like the birthday shoes. Take them if they are comfortable for walking.
You could take outfits 1, 2, 4, and 6/7 and have a rather cohesive color scheme. Are you taking a swim suit for Florida? If do, can you wear dress 3 or some other dress over it?

Oh my you all know how to put a smile on my barely awake face.

Joyce my husband is an excellent cook, and although baking is less his thing he is pretty good at that too. Everyone we know calls him for cooking advice (and tech advice, that is his day job).
Debbie I think you are right about the shoes and harem pants - thanks!
Peri delighted, thank you!
Lisa did you see VB in yellow? I am not going there.
Brooklyn of course this is a vintage bag from possibly the 70s, not a new super expensive model, but yes, the red and the design attracted my eye and the label was icing on the cake.
Sally agree with your advice. I will going from long chilly city walks in Paris to long hot and humid city walks in various parts of NYC to short walks to the pool and beach and Target in Florida so a variety of shoes are important
unfrumped thanks, I'm convinced
Lyn :)
Jaileen alas they are Israeli, from the summer sale that conveniently started the week of my birthday
https://www.facebook.com/CoupleOf-214800498584033/
As Suz can attest, couple of is one of my two favorite Israeli shoe makers.
Angie that was very detailed already thank you! I am resorting to bring some warmer clothes. I will bring the birthday shoes, and will serve you delicious cake when you come visit!

eta Joy I will bring a swimsuit and separate cover up to Florida. Thanks for you helpful comment!

Late to the thread but I concur with everything written by Diana. I could not have put it better.

I like to travel with at least four different shoes for this length of time. I am not a maximalist packer either but even the comfiest shoes I cannot wear for more than two days in a row. For summer travel (but not all hot days) I would take

- two pairs good walking shoes, one might be sneakers, one definitely sandals. Both smart casual appropriate.
- one pair sandals/shoes for more formal, probably a small wedge that I could wear during day if not walking a lot (your silver shoes fit this category)
- one pair slip on shoes for visiting places where I take shoes on and off (ie birkenstocks) - either the swimming pool or beach.
- I would hope that the sneakers from 1 were gym/tennis/jogging/light hiking appropriate, if not I would take another pair for this need.

Have a great time:)

Great outfits. No 1 is my favourite. And the lighter shoes will feel like summer, even if it is only 20 degrees (hard to believe as that is). So I vote take. I think the harem pants look cool and modest and will be comfy, so I vote take on those too. I also prefer 6/7 over 5. I love the ovoid, high/low hem. Modern and flattering. And a Gucci bag for $20? Unbelievable. Hope you have a fabulous trip.

I am very pressed for time today, Jaime, but will comment in detail tomorrow. A few quick thoughts FWIW:

Killer birthday shoes. MUST BRING BIRTHDAY SHOES.

Killer Gucci bag. WOW. Score!

You look Killer amazing in ALL these outfits. Cannot pick a favourite. Your beauty shines from within.

As always, I remind people about how cool it can be in Europe in the Summer time (because the weather can change overnight), and you will need a few warmer outfit options.

And where the heck is my slice of chocolate peanut butter birthday cake!

*hugs and smiles*

You are all so helpful. Thank you for plowing through my long post and offering so much good advice.

Ummlila I will definitely bring a lightweight cardigan to cover up when needed for weather or cultural reasons.
delurked your opinion on the shoes and dress is very helpful
Vildy the interesting things is that harem pants are commonly worn by some Jewish and Muslim communities here. That is really where they come from - modest desert wear that does not outline too much but also allows maximum mobility.
Suz I can't wait for you to come thrifting with me either! Thank you for your thoughtful advice. I am with you on shoes and travel. Most of my trip will be in the heat but Paris is going to be relatively cool - which is why I thought to bring the top in #4, which is an old Alexander McQueen dress/tunic that has been in my closet for at least 4 years. I will repeat outfits in Paris if need be.
Bonnie thanks I am definitely leaning toward taking both dresses
Joyce thank you for your excellent advice. Did I mention my DH made that cake for me? I do think there is a lot of pickpocketing there, and Skylurker seems to agree.
Elizabeth the loafers would only be for Paris where it is supposed to be cool - agree completely that they won't work in New York or Florida
Cococat I will feel the same about 20C as you did. Your advice is very helpful thanks!
Robin the cake was delicious! I am glad there is a consensus around my blue dress, it really helps so much.
Sharan everything you said was spot on what I have been thinking. Thanks!
Meredith thank you!
Isabelle yes, I see that it will be cool. Hmm.The loafers are for walking in Paris and I will need some more layers. And see you soon!

ETA

Rachy your advice was great, but you cracked me up which is even greater.

Diana oh thank you for your detailed advice, I can't tell you how helpful it is.

Ok first off you found a vintage Gucci for $20?!?! I clearly need to go theifting with you. I think the zipper bag is a great idea, not just for Paris but also NYC. I actually won't buy a bag that doesn't zip. It's not just worry about theft but it's too easy for things to just fall out when you're hanging on for dear life on the subway or something, you know? For travel I think it's also key that this bag s hands free and firmly attached to your person.

As for your questions:
1: I'd bring the shoes. For a 3+ week trip it's definitely not too much and I think you'll appreciate the variety. (I would say leave them if it was a one week trip.). I LOVE this dress by the way.

2: I don't think these are too much at all. Maybe not for the ultra orthodox community but for the rest of the trip they will be great. Plus good for travel days!

3: I love this dress too. I think it'll be very versatile for all parts of your trip. With a topper and possibly jeans for the colder/more covered up part, and by itself with sandals for Florida.

4:love everything about this. The color combo, the individual items, and silhouette are all great.

5/6/7: I prefer 6/7 objectively but I wonder if 5 wouldn't be better for variety (bc 6/7 is closer in feel to the other dresses). I also think 5 would be more appropriate if you needed to go to a more conservative dressier event.

8: YUM!

First, the chant: Gucci Gucci Gucci :D

Second, take the shoes (!) I think you'll be happy for the added interest/variety.

Three, pretty, but maybe something warmer would earn its keep in your suitcase better.

Four, 6/7 is more fashion forward, but that may be the reason to take the equally flattering 5 in light of your stay in Brooklyn.

Ok. Just my thoughts! I love vacation packing.

I can't think straight if you put dark chocolate under my nose !
Ok, I'll try.

Zipped bag is a good idea, there is a pickpocket mafia living off tourists here. Is the bag lightweight ?

Shoes : the most comfortable you have, you'll walk a lot, and like Suz said, better have several to change and rest your feet.

Outfits : weather is supposed to be cloudy, not much rain, around 20°C.
I'll wear jeans, closed shoes, shirts, cotton blazer - and trenchcoat in the morning. So all the outfits look too cold to me.

Stylewise, they're all good.
I prefer #5 over #6-7, but that's because I love structure better than drape.

I also meant to ask, are they doing a lot of pick-pocketing in Paris these days and that's the reason for the travel advisory? Of course that could happen anywhere and one should always have a firm grip on the purse, regardless of where you are.

The bag--what a great find! Love it, and it will go with everything you're bringing.
The silver shoes are adorable. I would bring them, though maybe subbing for another pair. But then, since they're new, they're not as proven as your other pairs, for the rigors of travel walking, right? A dilemma.
I love the red print dress and vote bring it. The harems are super versatile for travel--so comfy and stylish. I don't think they're too "out there" at all. I would not leave them behind--I like to travel with mine.
On 5 versus 6/7: they are both so pretty on you. 5 is a more classic look, and it fully covers the knees, if that is a consideration for the orthodox community. It might be a good option to have along.

I envy your trip! I hope you have a wonderful time. You certainly have a fantastic travel wardrobe!

Mmm, that cake looks delicious!

I love this cocoon shape you have going, looks very modern to me. My favorite is #1 but I like them all. I like the silver shoes, if you have room I say keep. Love the harem pants but I agree with Suz that it depends in the audience, they are not commonly seen around here. I prefer 6/7 over 5, it looks flowy and cooler. Sounds like a great trip!

Hello Shevia. I hope you had a lovely birthday. Your cake looks divine.

I was in Paris this time 2 years ago and I froze. Mind you, cold for me is 20 degrees C, but it still felt cold going from Winter in Australia to Summer in Paris (I do love that song).

What an amazing bag bargain! I really like the dress in #3 and I prefer #6/7 to #5 but I do like #5. I hope you have a great trip!

Just a quick note about the shoes... will look at the actual clothes a bit later if I hve time (great set of outfits, just no time to analyze!)

I'd lean towards leaving the black loafers at home... unless they are the shoes you wear while going for a day long walk, broken in, super comfy, etc. You have dark shoes covered with in the ballet flats, and the silver ones are much more summery. I think the black ones look very heavy for USA summer weather. I suspect you'll live in your sandals.

I like the shoes in 1, I think they are versatile, I would take them but on shoes for travel only you can tell which are more comfortable.
I agree with UL that the dress in 3 will be good to take as is will work well in hot and humid weather.
Of 5 and 6/7 I prefer 6/7, I think it is beautiful and works nicely with your style.
I love 1 and 4, would take that, too.
Do you have a long sleeve cotton sweater? That will work for many places as needed but will definitely work in Brooklyn.
Definitely take the cake if you run into it again!
Have a great trip!

First of all, you look killer amazing in every one of these, and what an interesting set of outfits for travel. Fabulous bag, too. Wow. I can't wait to come thrifting with you...

When it comes to shoes and travel, my motto is the opposite of everyone else's -- I believe in MORE. If you have space, take them. You may not "need" them to make outfits, but light shoes look cooler and in my opinion any change of footwear is almost a rest for tired feet.

Love #1. Perfect for a hot day.

#2 pants not too much to my eye but it will depend on your audience.

#3 Adore -- take if you have room. So pretty on you!

#4 Fabulous print and combo! What is the top?

As between 5 and 6/7 I slighly prefer 6/7 but 5 gives silhouette variety and may be more useful for occasions you have? Not sure.

I am wondering, though -- are these Paris or Brooklyn/ Florida options? You said Paris. But...most look more suitable to the other parts of trip. I know you said you have a jacket etc. And of course the weather in Paris could also be hot. I have not looked. I am thinking that Isabelle's outfits and those of other continental Europeans might be a good indicator?

Love your cake!

heh, ya got me wondering whether harem pants might count as a skirt,
"religiously". Visually they do. :D Is that light topper lightweight enough to be able to keep your upper arm covered in Brooklyn summer weather?
I like that dress in #6,7 as much as the peanut butter cup cake! Congrats on finding that spiffy bag!
