Thank you for the advice ladies! I think I'm going to try the CoH Amber but I do really like the look of the Hudsons.

Yes, when you wash your jeans the first few times, toss in a Color Catchers sheet (or two). They really do absorb the extra dye from the wash water.

Yes, I find CoH jeans run pretty true to size. Angie would probably also recommend that you try Hudsons. Also, David Kahn if you like a higher rise.

One thing to keep in mind with premium denim, at least with the dark washes of 7s, is that it tends to bleed. It can stain your shoes and purses really nicely. But yes, it doesn't stretch much as you wear it, so that is nice.

Premium denim is most certainly worth it in my opinion.

I would try Citizens of Humanity, bootcut Amber ( I just got a pair and am in love) and straight/skinny Elson. If you want a true skinny model than I'd look into Rich&Skinny Sleek, they have the nicest denim.

My experience with premium denim is that it does not bag out much. I think you get what you pay for with jeans and it is worth it to pay more for the premium denim.

I would say I am looking for a mid to low rise, but not super low rise (something that doesn't give all the other moms on the playground a glimpse of my undies!). Bootcuts are what I normally wear but I want to try a pair of skinnies this fall. My inseam is average (32 or 34 maybe?) but I am willing to get jeans tailored.

Hi Georgia - can you say more about what kind of jean you're looking for? I have found that premium denim varies a lot by shape: for example, I love my high-waisted jeans from Rich & Skinny (which are very high-waisted indeed), but have found others that say "high waisted" are not really. Did you want skinnies, straight legs, trouser, bootcut, or flares? (or are all those questions making your head spin?) :)

Also. others will have to chime in on how much different brands bag out with wear. I have a pair of 7 For All Mankind (thrift shop find!) that don't seem to bag at all. You will also want to tell us something about your inseam, since some brands are longer than others.

Hopefully Tanya will chime in, since she has vast experience with premium denim!

I have decided to invest in some premium denim. I am a SAHM so I do wear jeans a lot. I am so tired of jeans that fit great in the morning and sag in the seat and waist as the day goes on. My problem is I live 2 hours away from a Nordstrom or other department store so I would have to shop online, but I'm not sure what brands to try. Does anyone have any brand suggestions? I am an apple shape if that makes a difference.
