Bah, they rebounded a bit. But they are still longer than they were before. I guess I was afraid if I kept stretching them they would get too long. I'll yank on them a bit next time I wash them. At least now they're long enough for flats.

Thank you ladies for supporting me during a time of crisis :p

Laura, it has indeed been a very emotional day, clotheswise!

Plus your Ana sweater looks incredible on you!

Wow, what a turn-around from utter devastation to elation. That was one close call.

OMG I am absolutely elated right now! My manual stretching worked! I had serious doubts about it but I managed to stretch them enough that they are long enough for both flats and my 1" wedges and they scrunch a tiny bit. Wow, I am so relieved I will take pictures later. They stretched up to 30.5" which is quite incredible.

I am stretching them myself. I have them hanging upside down from a clip hanger while they dry, and I pop in every 20 minutes to tug at them with every muscle in my wimpy little body. You can imagine my determination! I will post the results of this method once they're dry. It's my last hope!

Oh Maya, I was just going to suggest stretching. Maybe Angie will know where you can have it done. This is so terrible! I can't believe they did this to your brand new, perfect jeans. Argh!!

Haha, I don't know about THAT, but the length is better anyway :)

I called Nordies to see if they can stretch them, as per Angie's blog post, and it sounded like they thought I was from outer space. So I guess only certain stores do it?

I'm going to wash them now and try tugging at them.

I found out that the man who used to run the shop died He did a great job, which is why I kept going back. His son decided to leave the business to his seamstresses who are just totally incompetent. They do a good job as far as craft goes, but they are not good at measuring or fitting, which is what the owner used to do. They only know how to take directions.

I bought that shirt back to see what they had to say, and they said there was nothing to be done and acted as though I should have known, even though they were the ones that insisted the back pleats looked good! They said they could try letting the sides out a little bit, but after what I have gone through, I decided not to bother. I'll get someone else to do it. This is why alterations always scare me...

What a shame. You have had bad luck with this tailor. Luckilly though they do seem just right for the shoes you are wearing in the photo, even though you wanted them for other shoes too, they are not a total loss. They look great with the flats.

I keep checking eLuxury to see if anyone returned the 27's. I would think in this economy, people will have more buyer's remorse than usual...

Well, at least my jeans are longer than on the model:

Oh thanks Maya. Yep, I have seen them, and they th ones, although they did not have 27 when I did ( it seems that people keep buying and returning them now). I'll wait a bit and see if I have any shopping money left after NY trip, especially if the Laura jacket works for me.

Maya it is not your fault, tailors can be that way. I have had some ignore my original hem request too, but luckily they hemmed them the right length. And as I have said, I do not think it is very obvious. Please bring them to Angie. And have fun with her at the tea meeting!

Btw, please don't get stressed out about saving for them before they get sold out from ShopBop. R&S has their own site where they sell their jeans, and they have those, and apparently things don't go on sale on their site, so they should be there for a while.

Angie and I are meeting for tea on Monday so I might bring them with me with some flats and change in the bathroom or something...I don't know if I can wait until next Saturday to find out if they work or not!

I feel like it's partially my fault for letting them go ahead and hem them while I wasn't wearing shoes, but that's why I asked for the original hem! Maybe if I just wear them with dark shoes it won't be as obvious. And if I make sure to only stand in certain positions It is a real bummer. There doesn't even seem to be enough fabric left to let them out a little. I am now definitely going to duplicate them, even if it means paying the $148 to get them from ShopBop. Hopefully they won't run out of my size before I manage to save that much...

I think that the jeans look good with those white shoes, considering that they are straight legged. if you can't wear them on Saturday I'd bring them and a pair of flats anyway with and have Angie look at them.

Once again I am so incredibly sorry .

Utter devastation today. The tailor ignored my request to leave the original hem on my perfect R&S jeans and the inseam is 29". I usually wear a 30-31" inseam. I really do not know if these work or not. I can only wear them with the flattest of my flats, which is a real bummer because they are not as versatile. But my real concern is whether or not I can even wear them with those. Sometimes they look like PPL, sometimes they look too short. I wore them with really contrasting white shoes so you can see clearly.

I am definitely looking for a new tailor now. This is the second job she has messed up. And this one is a real tragedy because the jeans fit so well. I'm thinking of wearing them on Monday so Angie can take a look but it's going to be way too cold for flats so who knows.

Sorry for the quality. I had to take them with my iphone.

Here they are from the front. I feel so stumpy...

Here they look too long!

http://img.photobucket.com/alb.....G_0014.jpg
