Yeah, they've got a double-topstitched wide hem (kinda chinos-esque) so it would be non-trivial to let down the hem. I will ponder.

One inch is a tad short in my opinion as well. Are they of khaki or cotton material though? Sometimes these are color treated after they are made. As a result, there can be a visible hemline or mark at the original hem. I would check before I take the tags off.

Hmm, if they are about an inch off the floor, then they might be a bit short. Is there enough fabric in the seam to let them out a bit?

Yeah, sorry Tanya, I'm having trouble getting good photos recently with the fall light. Maybe I should try again with the tan pair; maybe they'd show up better. They're about an inch or so off the ground in the back with flats, with a slight break in the front.

Edit: OK, so I took a picture of the tan pants as well and added that to my original post.

It is a bit diff cult to tell, but they look fine to me. Do they almost touch the ground in the back?

(I'm posting like crazy, sorry - I finally got time to upload all the pics off my camera.)

Part 2 of the results from my quarterly visit to the outlet mall: stuff from Ann Taylor Factory Store; didn’t have much success there as far as interesting pieces. On the plus side, everything was an additional 40% off. I ended up with one knit top with sequins/embroidery in purple, and two pairs of pants - I’m checking here to make sure the silhouette and length is ok. This is the brown pair - the other is tan but otherwise identical. (Photo overexposed to show detail.)

Edit: took a quick pic of the tan pants and i think you can see a bit better in this photo (despite its other unflattering flaws, sigh).

(I always appreciate feedback including constructive criticism.)
