Ha, maybe the key to making my R&S jeans fit is to lose weight. I would truly live up to the brand name then. Well, at least the "skinny" part.

I think what you say is probably true because when you gain weight, the last thing you want is tummy flab hanging over the waistband, so you're more inclined to pull the pants up higher. I never had a problem with low rise jeans when I was a skinny minnie, but now I can't stand anything less than 9".

Congrats on the weight loss! You must be thrilled and feel great.

You are doing great Kristen, congrats indeed. I have noticed the same thing about pants length too.

Congrats on the weight loss! I have noticed too that when I've gained a bit of weight, my pants seem to ride up higher in my waist, thus altering the PPL.

I've been remiss about commenting much lately although I am still reading! I'm on a diet that is going quite well, and I had what we call a "non-scale victory" that I thought the ladies of YLF would appreciate. :)

When I was putting on weight last year (and before that), I noticed that one clear sign of my gain was that my pants would get shorter. When I bought them they were PPL, but then...there they were, up around my ankles. Eventually I realized that as my waist area was getting bigger, the fabric to cover it had to come from somewhere! LOL. My girlfriend and I then would measure if we were gaining by our PPL, and laughingly compare notes. So I would end up having to buy new pants not because they were snug around the waist, but because they were too short!

This new diet I'm on has had a dramatic effect on my waistline; I've been measuring weekly and I'm already down a couple of inches. And it shows in my pants and sweaters; everything is getting much looser. Yesterday I put on a pair of my favorite pants, ones that had fit well around the hips before but were always meant to be worn with flats for PPL.

Most noticeably, there was suddenly a heck of a lot of extra fabric swishing around my ankles! I actually had to wear them with my 2" heeled oxfords instead of my flats so they looked right. (I also had to wear a belt with them, which means a little more loss and I won't be fitting into them at all. YAY.) I was cracking up at the difference in PPL, and immediately thought of all of you!

Now I'm worried about all the pants I had to have altered for longer PPL so I could wear them with all my beloved heels... how much extra fabric will there be down there now?
