One of my legs is slightly shorter than the other, so if I wear unaltered PPL pants with slightly lower footwear, the one side tends to drag by the end of the day since by then the pants have stretched, bagged, and sagged a bit. Wearing a belt helps up to a point.
If you're going by the shoe's description online, the height measurement can be off a bit. Even if you measure it yourself, it's hard to tell how the pants and shoe work together until you try them on. I doubt 1/4" will make enough difference to worry about, though. (Angie advises to hem pants so that they look like they're almost to the floor, but that can mean up to 1/2" off the ground, so you may have a little room to play with.)
I think I am wearing said pants and boots tomorrow, I will snap a pic and update the thread. Thanks for your reply, Day Vies, and good point about hanging straight to the floor. One of the pants is a trouser jean which I think hangs straighter, the other pair is bootcut jeans. We shall see tomorrow, I guess!

I think it will work -- it depends on how much of a break you can deal with. It would be helpful to see what PPL with these boots look like. For me sometimes PPL is hanging straight to the floor with no break or sag (like a perfect pair of curtains).
Hi YLF, I apologize, I have not been able to post much lately, have been traveling a ton for work. I read a lot but don't always have the time to comment. I hope this changes soon as I miss my time spent on the YLF boards!

Now that I have discovered what PPL is (thanks, Angie!) I have a question. I have read different comments on YLF saying that members tend to buy the same heel height so they can wear their pants with no issues. My question is this, do you buy ONLY that one height, or how much do you go over or under?

For example, I have a pair of boots that is PPL with two pairs of my jeans. They are 2.75 inches. I am looking at some other boots that have a 2.5 inch heel. Will they work or is a quarter of an inch too much difference?

Thanks in advance for your help!

abc
