I love the big black belt.</p> <p>I wonder if the slight flare of the skirt is kind of a "cut-off" point for the eye, such that the eye is judging proportion from the hem of the skirt on up and not including the legs? Normally, if you wear the same color tights as skirt, you look better with a longer top to balance out the bottom half, but that doesn't seem to work here for some reason.&nbsp;</p> <p>I LOVE the looks of the skirt on you. I don't think it's too full at all. It's just right! A “new” skirt; a new cardigan; casual boxy over boxy; </p> <p>1 –5 a “full” black soft suede skirt found on consignment a couple of months ago-- took me this long to have it taken up for fit. Showing due to Angie’s post on full skirts with stitched-down upper zones—a really desirable style element for me and that plus the longer length is why I bought the skirt even though needed alterations and&nbsp; &nbsp;since it has a side zip &nbsp;taken up at one side seam only, which skews the runs of top-stitching slightly on one side but pleats stay centered.. The suede makes it fuller than maybe optimal, but it was targeted as a warm winter skirt with tights. &nbsp;</p> <p>Pic 1&nbsp; was Wear Now with simple AT banded knit and zebra flats; pic&nbsp; 2 WIW Sunday with denim shirt tucked, and booties; pic 3-4 WIMW untucked or with dot shirt. Pic 5 --sheer hose just to show the length and shape better. Pic 10 is close-up of soft pleats.</p> <p>Pic 6 : an Eileen Fisher burgundy merino cardigan on big markdown, so &nbsp;“sales goggles” are at least firmly perched on nose. Lovely soft non-itchy slight ribbed wool knit, with drapey but not ruffly front. Shawl-ish collar. Long &nbsp;but not overwhelming. Pointy front avoids the horizontal cardi-line. I plan to keep and experiment with how this &nbsp;&nbsp;unstructured item fits into work-wear style-- but it was a good enough deal to use for casual/smart-cozy wear. Will see if that proves good or bad. I tried on a lot of EF sale items and resisted everything else due to fit issues, but there were some great fabrications.</p> <p>7-9 are casual&nbsp;boxy sweater/shirts. AT boxy sweater over Limited cotton dotted shirt and over AT striped silky shirt, with track pants or jeans.</p> <p>What do you think of my suede skirt experiment? Is it too retro or too full?</p> <p>Does EF cardi seem like a good classic find, or sale-blinded? </p> <p>Any comments and suggestions welcome.</p>
