Thanks everyone! I think the mirror print dress from #1 with the Halogen roll sleeve blazer from #2 is the winner so far. I showed the dress to DH and he loved it. The Galaxy print dress is very pretty but the neckline is very awkward - it sort of stands away from the body and wrinkles.

I am curious about the back zipper on the Maggy London dress - it is very long and black, not at all hidden. I have noticed this on a few dresses lately. I don't mind it too much but I wonder why the designers do that. I might start a separate thread on that - just puzzling to me.

#1 looks fantastic on you! That dress is amazing, and it seems to be flattering on everyone. The mirror print is very modern and cool. It looks great with and without the jacket, too.
At first glance I liked #2, but I see what you mean about the armhole issues. I'm not sure it's worth it to try to fix it.
It's hard to tell about the fit issues of #4, but I'll take your word for it. Too bad- the print is nice.
I like the skirt you've ordered. I'm not good at imagining how things will look, so I'd have to see it with different tops.

Hands down, I vote go with #1!

I like #1 best by far! The VC blazer looks great over the dresses.

Sure you can wear a white blazer over a white patterned skirt.
i think all the dresses are great, and you look terrific in all 3. for some reason, the dress in #4 seems more wedding. in the pictures the fabric seems more silky.

Dress #1 is far and away my favorite! It looks good with the white blazer in the photo, but I would wear it with the Halogen blazer - that one has the same modern and on-trend vibe as the dress.

I really like the dresses on you Makrame. #1/#2 looks great and #4 does also. I think that I would select one of those two. For a summer wedding as you describe I think either of these would be just perfect.

I like all of the dresses. I feel the skirt is too much white for a wedding & I wouldn't wear a white blazer. The bride may or may not be ok with any white & other guests might judge you too. Maybe you don't mind but white is for the bride only if it is a Western wedding. I think other cultures prefer no white for a different reason. It is what they wear to funerals. And maybe some don't mind white as the bride wears red and other colours as she changes several times.

That Maggie London dress seems universally flattering. Janet has it, and Celia, and Sarah tried it (and it looked great on her, but she opted for another outfit). I like it on you, too. I might like it better with the crisper lines of the Halogen jacket.

I considered ordering the VC skirt, too! There is a peplum top that goes with it in the same pattern, but that might be too much - it makes it look like a dress, though. It's tough to say in advance whether it will work with the topper; you'll need to see it IRL, I think.

I prefer the Maggie London to the other dresses and it seems as if it would suit the occasion. Are you happy with it?

So here are a few possibilities to wear as a guest at an early summer wedding (garden wedding, starts in the late afternoon, sit down reception, probably not too formal, not too casual). What do you think? Any other ideas? Start from scratch? :)

I am a bit wary of very large, very symmetrical patterns (#1 and #2) but the fit is good. I originally wanted a more abstract print, as in#4, but that dress does not fit well and is too stiff. #2 might need some darts up top to improve the armhole fit.
#1 - Maggie London mirror print dress, a linen blazer I have.
#2 - Jones NY dress, either linen blazer (middle) or Angie's Find Halogen blazer (right).
#3 - this floral print skirt by Vince Camuto is on its way to me; in the meantime I am trying out potential toppers with a different skirt as a stand-in. Can I pull of an off-white skirt and a white blazer? I could not find any silver or grey toppers.
#4 - Maggie London Galaxy dress for comparison.
