I donate everything, so I have personally adopted the lounge wear/gardening/dirty housework&nbsp;second lifespan for my stuff where appropriate. I don't feel the need to spend money on this stuff and none of it is good enough to have much resale value,&nbsp;so it makes sense.<br />I'm actually at the point where I probably need to purge PJ tops (old tees) and loungewear, because&nbsp;I have more than I actually need.&nbsp; Sometimes the choice is tough all over again because even though it's relegated to loungewear I still have some lurking feeling of obligation toward it. They've been resurrected totally. </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/postponing-the-purge#post-1033091 Wed, 18 Sep 2013 16:55:23 +0000 Mo 1033091@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>I already sent a half dozen things to consignment last week and had about as many more planned to go. &nbsp;After a week of them hanging there, and wearing a not perfect top yesterday, I had a change of heart. &nbsp;I am going to wait and purge all these things at the end - before I move back to Tahoe.<br />A few thoughts came to mind - am I really over the item itself or am I just not styling it in a way that expresses me now? &nbsp;My transitioning climate and lifestyle are in play, too. &nbsp;I have lots more 'at home' time here. &nbsp;LOTS. &nbsp;I find I get in a rut of loungewear at times. &nbsp;Why not 'demote' the items in question and wear them around the house? &nbsp;This is a twofold solution: &nbsp;I immediately 'up' my lounge game <i>and</i> don't spend time and money buying more warm weather items that won't be much needed when back in Tahoe. &nbsp;This whittles down my warm weather capsule to the essentials; I can finally truly wear out my clothing by the time I'm ready to move back. &nbsp;I fully intend on only bringing back the best of the best of the warm weather stuff in a year's time. &nbsp;<br />Also, by wearing them at home, I can play around with styling and like Tarzy mentioned in another thread, if I decide it's a crazy combo, I can change and no one's the wiser but the cat, he he. &nbsp;Might stumble upon a winning combo that can then come out of the house and be seen in daylight lol.&nbsp;<br />And if I end up wearing out the stuff by washing it every week, so be it - it was going to be purged anyway! </p>
