Cerinda -- Wow! You have had success on many fronts this past week. Kudos! Your consignment strategy is smart. (I always forget to bring things just ahead of season when the stores are most inclined to accept items.) It truly is liberating to get rid of unworn items and to make room for the more utilized pieces. Sounds as if you learned a lot from your recent 10 x 10 challenge. That sort of challenge is a terrific way to identify which wardrobe items are working well... and which are clearly not. Yes... it is eye-opening. I like your new challenge ideas. That "dominant season" thing should be a big consideration for a lot of us.

Week 2 was all about the marathon seasonal swap: my local consignment shop accepted 23 of the 24 transition/fall/winter items I took in (and will take the 24th after a minor mend). I used credit from my summer consignments to add a second metallic bag to my wardrobe, one large enough to carry computer, tablet, water bottle, and all that. I’m slowly filling the limited closet/drawer space liberated by purged and stored items; light-weight wools are now keeping the darker light-weight transitional items company. This will go on for a while, probably until Thanksgiving.

Lessons learned: How to make consignment (at this particular shop) work for me -- purge mistakes immediately and consign or donate right away; purge at the end of the season, donate immediately, and store the rest to consign later.

My 10 x 10 challenge --10 high-happiness, non-repeating WAH outfits--has had mixed results. Trying to do this was totally eye-opening (Yo, Sterling!). I used 7 bottoms and 11 tops to create (and try, and photograph) 8 transitional outfits and 3 winter ones.

Lessons learned: 1) I could cheerfully wear my black cropped wide-leg trousers almost daily, and they work with a surprising number of tops and toppers in my closet (Thanks, Tanya!); 2) the best fitting jeans in the closet look really dated: hack; 3) summer’s ill-fitting crop kick flares can anchor a significant number of outfits: consign immediately and look for a replacement; 4) two sweaters were splitting wears: return; 5) and 2 bottoms are perilously close to being orphans.

I’ll count last week a success.

So my fun challenge for the coming week is to act on the lessons learned in the 10 x 10: 1) plan for winter; 2) style the pale flares and the patterned black silk slouchy trousers that went unused; 3) and spend some time considering my dominant season and the distinctions I make between WAH, Casual, and Casual Chic.

Staysfit -- Sorry to hear about your surgical complications. Hope that you are feeling much better this week and that you are on the road to a full recovery. Great news about your son. You must be very proud of him. Regarding your shoe challenge -- I do not blame you for binning or passing on those loafers. No matter how pretty they are, they are not worth blisters and discomfort. I have a lot of blister problems with shoes with a high hard back (a lot of oxfords and loafers fall into this category).

Joy -- I know what you mean about the challenges this transitional weather presents. It sounds like you are very wisely deciding to just go with the flow. We are still getting intermittent summer temps here, mixed in with some damp, cold temps. So hard to plan outfits as the weather often changes throughout the day.

Barbara Diane -- That is great that you could put your new dresses into play. I am sure that you will receive tons of compliments on them here on this forum. The ladies here are so much more "style aware" than some of our friends and coworkers. Have you ever tried fleece tights? I actually find them to be warmer than a lot of my leggings.

I continue to be so impressed and inspired by all of your terrific challenges!!! New weekly challenge thread starts tomorrow. Keep up the good work ladies!

Not sure what I said I would do, if anything, but here's what I did. Post coming if I can figure out how to post photos-I think I finally figured out what I was doing wrong. Anyway,
I wore for the first time 2 of my NAS dresses. And with the leggings I bought so I could wear dresses once it was colder than really warm. Instead of my usual- comfy pants.
It feels beyond good to have finally cut the tags and put them to use. I realize that my CPW may be quite low, but my joy per wear extremely high.
I did not receive one compliment. I was shocked. Not sure if it was because of the leggings with maryjanes. I think my crowd might have thought leggings under the dress a bit odd.
One twist was one day the air conditioning was artic and I was cold. Kept my not so warm puffer coat on my legs. Need to try a warmer topper to see if that will work in similar situations, or if I need to revert to pants. Or get warmer leggings.
Biggest challenge-deciding whether to keep newly purchased placeholders. One of them is definitely not exactly what I want but also definitely better than the alternative in my wardrobe.

My vow to make layered outfits for changeable daily weather as been a struggle with other priorities creeping in and warmer weather in general. I didn't get any photos but mostly used jackets to add warmth when needed. I'll try to get back to this project this week. Thank you, El Cee, for the challenge.

Last week I missed work due to surgical complications. This week I have been running around because I went to parent week at my sons college. Good news! He's doing well! More good news, I have figured out that one of my pairs of shoes causes blisters when I walk so they need to be binned. I refuse to wear shoes that pinch my toes or rub my feet. I have enough difficulty in life without tender tootsies!

The offending shoes are a pair of Beautifeel loafers, loose in the heel. A perennial problem for me. One walk between my sons dorm and the car park and my heel was sore. The distance was maybe 1.5 miles. Is that too much to expect from flat loafers? I think not.

Thanks El Cee. Yeah I'm finding it takes a bit of effort to change silhouette but it is well worth it to play around with proportions etc.

Cerinda -- Thanks for your support and thoughtful comments on all the challenges in this thread. In answer to your question re: my own challenge -- Yep, boredom is the main reason I would like to wear more color on the bottom half. And I do own other bottoms besides blue denim ones. They just do not get as much wear, so I am trying to change that. They deserve some love. :-)

ElizabethP -- I was enchanted by your lovely travel capsule and was thrilled to see how you put it in action on your recent trip. There were so many fabulous outfits that you created from this one grouping. I love your new challenge idea to get wears in on your transitional pieces. I will be doing something very similar to that for the next few weeks as it is still too warm to fully switch over to my Fall/Winter clothes.

Anne -- I missed your gray vest post and will check that out. I bet that will be a nice Spring transition piece for you, as will the white jeans. You are very smart to look ahead at possible Summer updates while you still have lots of choices in the stores. I need to be more organized about that process.

Sally -- Got busy over the weekend and missed your new thread on your style aspirations. I will be checking that out fully later today. I like your idea of selecting specific silhouettes to wear this season. I am doing a bit of strategizing on that subject for my winter wardrobe as I always seem to get stuck in a rut of skinnies plus boots. Love your new finds... especially the cage sandals. Gorgeous!

I posted some of my style aspirations to copy cat the other day. http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....for-summer
Today my niece who came over for the weekend from Australia went shopping with me. She worked in clothes retail for years and is great on advice. I got a couple of summer dresses, a leather vest, and boyfriend jeans from thrift shop. But I was thrilled to find two leather belts and this messenger bag from thrift shop....will help with copy cats.
I also found my brown booties and there was a 70% discount on the 2nd Pair of shoes so she advised me to get a pair of metallic cage sandal shoes. I spent a bit more than I normally spend but the boots are soo comfortable so think I'll get my moneys worth. I think these will really enhance my summer wardrobe. Also found a big summer scarf but can't be bothered styling it all now.
Also in response to my claim that my husband thinks I have too many pairs of shoes, she had this advice...." men don't understand how one single ankle boot can not go with all your outfits ".

Your threads have been challenging me, though I don't think I'm got around to actually telling you my thoughts. Like Elizabeth P, I've been busy. (It's school holidays now, so I'm around a little more)

So one of my was to post a picture of a grey knitted vest for your input - I have done that, though haven't tried out the styling suggestions yet.

In the next few months before it gets too hot I want to wear my 2 pairs of white jeans as much as possible - they haven't seen as much wear as I like so far because of rain.

I'm also trying to work out what my summer casual updates will be and have done a thread on that.

You guys are all doing such an amazing job posting and commenting on all these posts. Very impressive. I'm afraid I just don't have the time to be so diligent.

My challenge for this week is simple... To enjoy the warm weather while it lasts, and to make sure I get wears in on pieces and looks that I've discovered truly are transitional for me. This includes peep toe sandal booties, or heavier sandals. closed toe shoes, crops with "sliver of skin". I also only have a short window left to wear dresses with no hose, so want to make sure I take advantage of that. In short, to be seasonally appropriate, but not to head into my true fall and winter things before I absolutely have to.

Happy weekend! Quickly checking in before celebrating the New Year with extended family.

El Cee, thanks for spearheading the challenge. Denim is my uniform, so I understand it's your default. Just how willing are you to embrace all dark neutral bottoms? Not entirely, your challenge suggests. Why not? Boredom? Repetition? Your red, blush, olive, eggplant, and mustard bottoms sound so seductive: is it just a time issue, or are you missing other pieces for them?

Texstyle, what great thinking! Warm/cool baffles me, so I'm following you with interest. Stylefan, thank you so much for your inspiring,
multifaceted wardrobe audit. Sterling, I'm dogging you. First on the
outfit vs. mix and match issue (http://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ topic/wardrobe-evaluations-part-1), then your discipline leaving your fall-backs in storage, and now your reopening that dang dominant season issue. Bonnie, Carter, and Suz What great work! I’m finding the idea of advance planning much more attractive because of you; inspiring. Great posts. Sally, you got an amazing amount done; I hope you’re feeling better. Loving your Instagram posts. Jen, definite
success (and great visuals!); love the poncho. Yikes, Sisi, good luck dress shopping. Bella, how wonderful to have uncovered that magic number, and what a clear analysis. Elly, so glad to see you, and you have all my sympathy for these very significant personal challenges; great style challenges, especially the terrifying #1.

Sterling -- I very much like your idea of keeping track of outfits/ensembles in Powerpoint format -- so much better for us visual types. I may follow your lead on that. I also like your very practical shopping plan as well -- filling gaps where you see them and finding supporting acts for some of your loved but not worn pieces. You're right that you folks in the South have just two seasons. My best friend lives in Florida (a recent transplant from New York) and she says the same thing as you do. Summer lasts about 8-9 months. And Not-Summer is very brief -- and is really more like our Fall/Spring transitional seasons up north. She barely changes out her wardrobe and merely brings out longer pants and adds some top layers (jackets and sweaters) for those 3-4 months. You are very wise to save the largest part of your shopping budget for Spring/Summer purchases.

Elly -- Sorry that you have had such a tough several months. Wishing you and your family better times ahead. You have some fantastic challenge ideas. I especially like your idea of creating capsules to get the most out of the remaining month of wear of your summer clothing. You are also so smart to evaluate your cool weather wardrobe as you are pulling it out. I always forget to do this and then am not able to identify gaps in time to fill them (because stock is no longer available). I love the items you are thinking about -- especially that lovely plaid toggle coat.

I'd love to join in despite being away for awhile. October is the last of our "hot weather" down in AZ. Everyone's challenges have inspired me!

I'm going to be going on a 7 day trip home to CO very soon and am packing my knitting, DSLR, and all my clothes in my personal item. Challenge 1 will be making that happen while still feeling relatively put together (and prepared for a short hiking trip).

Challenge 2 will be to wear all of my summer clothes in October (my shorts, skirts, shoes, and tops).
In late March my family had a personal tragedy and in May my partner was laid off after only having been employed again after our move for about 4 months. He is working again after being unemployed all summer, but we've decided that he needs to go back to school for an additional certification, so he will be unemployed again (and halfway across the country, while I'm paying two rents) January-May. He had a job offer in July, when I was on YLF again during NAS and I did buy a machine washable cardigan after wishing for one during most of May and June and a trench (the trench was returned). Other than that, there hasn't been any shopping since we found out in May. I'd started building up my basics (since I had very little in the way of hot weather clothing) in April and had added 10 pieces and two pairs of shoes, so I didn't sweat to death or anything. That said, there were some big holes left to plug (no non-denim pants, 1 lone sleeveless top, 1 pair of work sandals) and I felt my creativity falter-- the heat and our busy season at work had nothing to do with it, I'm sure. I wore everything I bought (multiple times) and everything I already owned, but defaulted to jeans and a tee often, or whatever was clean in whatever combination made me look least like an escaped mental patient.
Anyway, now that we are down into the 80s and with a month of "summer" weather left I'd like to challenge my self to wear all of my summer clothing in he best combinations and put it through it's paces. I've created a series of capsules that identify all of the clothing I want to wear in October and created pairings to try out for problematic pieces.

Challenge 3 will be to pull out my fall/winter stuff and "play dress up" and evaluate it. I absolutely know I have to replace at least one layering piece and one top that have been worn into the ground. I'm missing a black jacket consistently when getting dressed for the times when a black cardigan won't do and am thinking maybe a bomber is the answer. Of course, that seems nutty since i have a black-shearling lined denim jacket, two black leather jackets, and a black cardi-- it just seems like i never have something the right weight to wear over tops inside at work when i don't want to wear the cardi. I'd also love to exploit the warmer winters with a dress, but my only winter dress is only wearable to work with a jacket and scarf because of the fabric and neckline. I'm also concerned that EVERYTHING is neutral, excluding my shoes and my trusty green flannel. I need to sit down and take a hard look at how much or how little I can get away with. Finds below are items temping me now.

Continuing with my goal to comment on weekends (as opposed to Wednesdays), I wanted to provide an update on my challenge. El Cee -- I'll copy this post to the conversation you post next Wednesday. I am merely adding it here as a means to capture my thoughts.

I am continuing to develop ensembles based on favorite pieces, climate, and work or casual setting. I moved from a spreadsheet format to a powerpoint format. The spreadsheet got messy and hard to decipher. I'm more visual anyway.

I am spending some quality time evaluating those pieces that don't fit into one single ensemble for any setting. In some cases, I am shopping for a coordinating act. This really streamlines the shopping process. No impulse buys. No sales goggles. I have never shopped this way before. It is beyond productive. I think this must be the way professionals like Angie shop. In other cases, those orphans just sit in my closet in unresolved status. How long they will remain in the closet is unknown. I don't have the heart to put them in a donation box just yet. I know I loved them at one time .....

It is my opinion that we women who live in the southeast really only have two true seasons. Carter? Kaelyn? Do you agree?

My thoughts are we have "summer" and "not summer." "Not summer" seems to extend from November through February (four months). I identified those garments that can only be worn during November through February. Every morning I am going to select my wardrobe from those garments in order to get the absolute most wear out of them (I have a lot of them because I spent my life buying for an imaginary ski lodge in Colorado .... waves at Joy). I made the decision not to add to that set of garments until I have had the opportunity to truly evaluate them.

I am going to save my money and focus on buying for Spring/Summer 2017 since that seems to be the best use of my clothing budget. Thanks to Suz for always directing me in this direction. I admit you probably had to suggest it tens of times before I heard you, but I did hear eventually hear the wisdom on your voice.

Style Fan -- Wow! I am impressed by all you have accomplished. I have been very inspired by all the ladies (you included) that have undertaken full wardrobe audits. (This is something I really need to do when I have a big chunk of time.) I am also inspired by your gradual evolution into an "organized emotional shopper". And yes -- You could easily channel Jane Birkin. Great idea. Go for it!

Sisi -- I love your challenge. I have found, just as you have, that some summer dresses just do not lend themselves to being "autumnized". (I have much more success with skirts.) And you are absolutely right that it is harder to find true cool weather/sleeved dresses. Good luck with your search. Let us know what you find.

Bella -- Kudos to you on your successful wardrobe inventory and spreadsheet creation! That was a huge undertaking, but I bet it feels great to have accomplished this task. Looking forward to seeing your outfits. I am still trying to find a good way to do WIW pics as I also face that "early morning" problem... poor lighting and mirror location, time crunches, etc. I empathize with your concern about family clothing gifts. That can be a sensitive subject to bring up. I suggested to my own family that we all exchange gift cards instead of trying so hard to find that "perfect something" for each other. And I finally purged some of the "gifts" that I had not been wearing -- gave them to a charity shop as they were still in great condition. I initially felt a bit guilty but kept reminding myself that someone else will get much joy from these pieces.

Sterling -- Your "one year probation" idea is brilliant!!!

Sally- thanks for sharing how you mix your warm/cool colors. I think your plan to add lipstick and accessories is perfect for adding polish - I try to do this on a regular basis as well.

My challenge for the upcoming weeks is to take outfit photos. I have fallen out of the habit, but I wore at least 2 super cute outfits in the past two weeks. I want to take pictures, so that I can show them to you, of course, but also so that I can remember and repeat them!
I have to figure out the logistics with my super early schedule this semester, and the usual hassle of the mornings with a young child.

Thanks for posting this thread! I was a very good student and did my homework, so I was waiting impatiently to post.:)

My challenge was to go through *all* my closet and take an inventory. I am very pleased to report that I have successfully completed this task. As I had mentioned, I had already started to this a few weeks ago, but I realized that there were mainly there groups of clothes that I still had to attend to. The first was a forgotten bag of what I presumed was mostly winter clothes. I was also still undecided about some of the items already in rotation (whether I want to keep them or not), and I had completely neglected my loungewear.

Happily, I completed the remaining portion this weekend bit by bit.
- All summer loungewear has been carefully checked, evaluated and if need be discarded.
- I pulled out a bag (my holding zone, if you will) from the far corner of my closet. It included some jeans and pants, and a couple of dresses, all from pre-pregnancy. These items have been carefully evaluated. I returned 2 summer dresses back into the bag to pack them up with summer clothes. I realized that I now fit into 2 pairs of jeans, and 2 winter weight dresses. They are still in good condition, and I still like them. So they earned their right to a precious spot in my closet. Finally, I decided gave away 2 pairs of casual pants, and one dress.
- Finally, there were a few items that I was undecided about in the last purge, so I said goodbye to them this time around.

As a result, I am the happy owner of a brand new, shiny excel spreadsheet with my wardrobe items (does not include loungewear, special capsules, layering camis and such - just the actual weekday and weekend clothes).
As a result of this exercise, I discovered something fascinating! For the last two years, I had been operating with a relatively smaller wardrobe, due to pregnancy, and its aftermath. So I assumed that my actual wardrobe size had considerably shrunk. I have however, come to find out that there are approximately 100 items of clothing in my closet - pretty much the exact same number as two years ago, before pregnancy! So I guess that's my number!

I was also able to crunch some numbers:
- About 1/5 of all my clothes are from Mango! There is a store very close to my house, and I am able to go there at very quiet hours throughout the week, so I am usually able to catch good stuff on sale. I also know the brand well, and can judge easily what will and will not fit me. So it's easy for me to shop there, especially when I am short on time.
- About 30% of my clothes are either black or gray. Another 10% is navy. I like my neutrals.
- The only patterns in closet are florals and stripes. This is kind of surprising, bec-ause I think I love animal prints. I must be getting more conservative. :)

Final thoughts:
I realized that I receive a lot of clothing (both as gift and as new-with-tag hand me downs), particularly from my sister and my mother-in-law. There are the items that bother me the most in my closet. Once in a while, there will be something really great. But 9 times out of 10, they will be things that are either not in line with my taste, or not really suitable for my lifestyle. I don't wear them, but I can't bring myself to get rid of them either (out of guilt?), so they will sit there unworn, and bother me. I should really think about this more and decide how to move away from this situation.

Thanks for reading. Ok, now off to read others' progress on their challenges. :)

Hi Jenn! When I first decided on my plan to store away all those pieces that I normally wear, but don't make me feel fabulous, I thought for sure I would have "nothing to wear!!!" One time. One time, I came home from work and really wanted something softness and cozy to wear. I went into the bedroom and stared at the storage bin. I ended up picking something from my working closet instead. So with one exception I have not missed those pieces. Yay.

This is actually a test. If I find I don't miss anything that is "on probation" after one year, the entire bin will be donated. So I am slowly transitioning a segment of my wardrobe into that bin. It seems I wear clothes I don't love at home. I am choosing to not wear those pieces anymore by placing them in the bin. In time, I hope that there will be no pieces in my working closet that I don't love.

I hope this makes sense. My coffee hasn't kicked in yet.

My Autumn challenge: wearing more dresses and skirts rather than pants.

I only have Summer dresses. Until today I was able to "autumnize" 3 of them ( the other 2 are not good for this purpose for various reasons), adding a warm pullover or cardigan, wearing tights and closed shoes. It worked rather well. But when the weather will turn really cold, I will need warmer dresses. So a challenge leads to another challenge: will I be able to find Autumn dresses that I like? I am so picky ....

Thanks for starting this challenge. I have not posted here but I have been working on my Wardrobe Audit and my Personal Style. I have also started my Blog. To date I have posted my Wardrobe Audit Part One: Outerwear, Part Two: Toppers, Part Three: Bottoms and for my Personal Style I posted my Colour Palette. I have also posted my yearly clothing spending for the year August 2015 to August 2016.
I have slowly been evolving into an organized emotional shopper.

The next challenge for me is to do and post my Wardrobe Audit Part Four: Tops and Part Five: Footwear. I am also making a shopping list for the coming year.

I would love to do a Style Icon but the Wardrobe Audit is probably more important for me. Jane Birkin would be my Style Icon. Maybe I will try one or two outfits.

El Cee - I also struggle with non- denim bottoms. I wear black easily but struggle to find and wear other colours. I do agree maybe finding a couple of looks in advance could be the answer.

Sterling - well done

Carter - love those new pants and your tidy organised closet. Mine is also tidy now, and it feels great.

Suz - what a busy week, with some fun occasions.

Tex Style - I mix warm and cool colours, and gold and silver. I love cool blues and greys with browns, rusts, corals, oranges, pinks and cognacs and mustards for example. I find it harder with cool greens and pinks - they seem to need cool neutrals to make them work. I find if I am wearing lots of different colours in my outfit I match my handbag and footwear to unify them. I mostly wear cognac in this case. I love the finds you have chosen.

Jenn- what a great week of outfits - that poncho is smashing on you. That gives me food for thought. That pieces was definitely made for you. I love your black maxi dress too.

Sally - I also think your experimentation with pinterest is fun, and I do agree accessorizing is important. I am only average at it though.

Bonnie - I love your fall capsule - the colours are just stunning for you.

Jenn -- Thanks for your supportive and helpful comments. Congratulations on meeting and exceeding your goals this week. I adore all your ensembles and am especially fond of the 2 that include your fabulous poncho. (I personally cannot wait until we get a bit of "poncho weather" here.) I always love to see your WIW threads and get lots of great ideas from you. And -- you are so right that advance planning of my own outfits using certain "avoided" bottoms would be helpful. I may just do that this weekend (with inspiration from you, Suz and Carter), but I will still have to get around the problem of being a thoroughly emotional dresser. :-)

Kiwigal/Sally -- Hope you are feeling much better. Accomplishing two out of three goals is more than fabulous... especially considering that your second goal was quite an extensive undertaking. Kudos to you! I also struggle with what lightweight toppers to wear with my summer tops in the transitional weeks. Lots of trial and error for me. Hope you enjoy your upcoming holiday.

Thanks for starting this new thread. I had two days in bed sick, then a day working from home, then finally back to the normal routine yesterday.

I had several goals:

Wear lipstick and accessories more deliberately to increase polish

Sort out my spring/summer wardrobe and actually redo the wardrobe itself

Pack and organise a holiday capsule for our Gold Coast Australia trip next week.

Goal 1 - achieved last week, not this week.

I am pleased to say I have completed goal 2. I took out all my winter clothing (bar two pairs of light coloured boots and one lightweight puffer that may get worn until mid October) and put it away in storage. I sorted through all my drawers and closet, there was not much editing but I did remove a couple of unworn gear tops and a swimsuit that was perished. I also tried on the remaining swimsuits and shorts.

I have a small tight summer shopping list with the two stars being the priorities. I think maybe the first two items could be purchased on holiday next week.
- new swimsuit/tankini/bikini **
- flat/low heel smart casual light neutral sandals **
- summer pants, not black or denim, maybe flares **
- work pants *
- dress, smart casual *
- summer jacket/cardigan**

I also learnt I struggle at this time of the year with adding toppers to summer tops, I have the tops, shoes and jeans, but not the appropriate topper, mostly because my tops are diverse shapes and lengths and patterns.

When sick in bed I did write a packing list for our trip, and so I am on track with this goal.

I have read through others challenges - and will reply in more detail shortly.

El Cee - Good work wearing the dress. On the bottoms, would it help to plan out a few outfit options ahead of time?
Sterling - I'm curious, have you ever found yourself missing the "sloppy" options, or is it truly "out of sight, out of mind"?
texstyle - I vote you try with the deep olive jacket and burgundy bag.
Bonnie - Your loose tunic outfits seem perfect for the "hot autumn" season.
carter - I am dying at that closet photo. I've always admired your consistent dressing, but that closet is just...wow.
Sally - Your Pinterest-inspired looks have been great, and I think they'll really help you move towards your own individual style as you hone your signature colors and accessories.

Suz - That sounds like a crazy-busy week, but all events that I'd love to dress for. I suspect your closet will suit you well, and I can't wait to see the resulting outfits.

My challenge was to wear outfits with my "signature items" at least 3x a week.

I did five outfits that fit the criteria this week! I didn't get pictures of all of them, but I have the ensembles, so I've included photos of me in the outfits when I can.

Pic 1: Worn to work my booth at a handmade market this past week. It was a chilly morning, a lovely mid-day, and a cold, windy afternoon. Signature items: duster sweater, gold-toe boots

Pic 2: Out to a casual dinner with family.
Signature item: leather jacket

Pic 3: Work-at-home and errands. I wrote another thread about how this top wasn't stretchy enough for the lifting and loading work I had to do on this day.
Signature item: Frye oxfords

Pic 4: Worn today for my weekly maker meetup. Love the poncho for chilly mornings.
Signature items: EF poncho, gold-toe boots

Pic 5: Work-at-home and errands. The poncho doesn't work as well over this textured linen tee, as it tends to catch on the fabric and bunch up. Still good for the chilly mornings, though. :)
Signature items: EF poncho, Frye oxfords

I'll be back in a bit to comment on everyone else's weeks!

Suz and El Cee - thank you both so much for taking the time to respond to my warm/cool color challenge. I probably should try doing something similar in a lighter fabric since it's still in the high 80's here.

El Cee- I know exactly what you mean about slim fitting pants in warm weather. I feel the same!

So fun to read and see the other challenges here by Sterling, Suz, Bonnie, Carter, Sally.

Suz -- First of all, thank you for all your wise and thoughtful comments on each of our challenges. Regarding my eggplant jeans (and some of my other colored denim pieces), I think I am avoiding them in this transition period because they are closer fits -- mostly skinny, slim or flares that hug my thigh area. When the temps start to drop, I think I will reach for these items more often. Right now I am favoring my boyfriend jeans, wide leg crops and culottes which are (you probably guessed it) mostly blue denim.

I love your "rainy day cruise" outfit. You have found a very stylish way to deal with uncooperative weather. It is so hard to have "hard and fast" outfit plans this time of year. It sounds as if you have a very busy and exciting week ahead. You are so smart to plan ahead with your outfits, even if you have to tweak them a bit to accommodate for day-to-day weather changes.
