I stopped coloring my hair a couple of years ago. It has continued to get lighter over the last year and I assume that will continue until I'm totally white/gray someday. I'm not pushing for that! I like the color variation it has now. I got so weary seeing photoshopped, professional pictures of gorgeous YOUNG women and celebrities held up as models of "fabulous" gray hair. These YLF pictures REALLY show how fantastic gray hair can look in all of its variations--so much inspiration here and a roll of the eyes to anyone who thinks gray hair is aging or unfashionable. </p> <p>Aida, as I'm getting more and more "highlights", I have noticed not all gray hairs are the same--some are quite straight while others have a definite wave or curl. The baby-fine hair seems less "slippery" and more textured these days. My former bob was always smooth, shiny, and straight so it has taken some experimenting to figure out what works and what doesn't.</p> <p>I'm currently in what my stylist calls the "awkward" stage of growing out a short cut. I had it cut quite short because I wasn't sure how to handle the changing texture, but going short just didn't work as well for me as it does for others. I'm much happier with playing around with a textured, messy inverted bob these days instead of trying to recreate my former smooth look. I'm working towards something jaw-length--and then my stylist promises some REAL fun.
