My oxfords look like little purple men's shoes until they are on my feet. With oxfords it's the overall look that plays up or contrasts with their style. I bet they are adorable and can't wait to see photos!

I'm the opposite - I really don't like girly shoes - have never worn a bow, a pointy toe, stilettos or anything that feminine on my feet. Every now and then II'll see a pair that looks great on someone else, though, and think about taking the plunge!

Gotta love Zappos! The Michael Kors already arrived. Out of the box, I almost couldn't even bear to try them on. The boyfriend agreed--mannish and unattractive. And then I put them on (wearing pajama bottoms because we both agreed that no amount of styling would make them workable) and there was some hilarious transformation. They became, well, cute! Even BF had to admit that there was something quite fetching about them. But it's a strong look and one I'm not sure I'm ready to commit to. I'll try to take a picture this weekend when I get my act together to try them on with an actual outfit. Plus, I want to wait for the Bass ones to arrive so I can do a true side by side (with pics).

I actually bought the Bass shoes when Lucky magazine was offering a discount on them. I used to be a complete sucker for Bass shoes. These are cute, and I love the heel, but I think they are going back. They're just not that comfortable, and not the quality I associate with Bass even for the $45 I paid.

I had the same dilemma about Oxfords. I ended up with these ones http://www.wittner.com.au/shoe.....black.html

I think the little heel and pointy toe makes them much more feminine. They are on my feet right now and they are very comfortable

The "Pour la Victoire" oxfords are in the store. I almost bought those in white. They are so beautifully made I can't stand it.

Well, true to my shopping style (as I described it in today's thread), I ordered both the Michael Kors and the Bass oxfords. Actually, that's not true. The Kors shoes were NOT on sale (majorly breaking my own "sales only!" rule) but Zappos claimed there was only one pair left in my size and I caved under the pressure. Pathetic, I know. But I am committed to returning unless I truly LOVE them and can imagine getting a lot of wear out of them. The Nordstrom ones were inexpensive and practically free with a Nordstrom note I had. But will likewise be returned if not perfect. I'm hopeless.

I love the Kor's oxfords too. I love the cut outs if you live in a dry climate, and the gunmetal color is so pretty.
The first pair is pretty good looking too.
I had the Bass pair to try on when I was exploring my options. I decided they looked too much like the saddle oxfords we were forced to wear as children. They may be right for you though. I did find them to be fairly comforable especially with a heel.

I love there is the taupe suede.

I *LOVE* the Michael Kors oxfords - the cutout takes them over the edge into sheer fantastic-ness. I think oxfords can work with a feminine style - that contrast just adds to the charm of the look!

I had them on my fall list as a "might have to have" but all this forum chatter is definitely getting me in the oxford mood.
My main concern is the masculinity--my style is 100% feminine and so I worried that I wouldn't find a way to make oxfords work with my closet. I like Angie's idea of pairing them with skinnies (which I wear a lot) but I would love a pair that could also transition well into the office setting.
So here are my top three contenders--would love some input! And I realize that the flat vs. heeled styles makes these hard to compare but I trust you all are equal to the challenge!

Love how neutral these are and I've had good luck with this brand:
http://www.zappos.com/pour-la-.....light-grey

Potentially a more wearable color throughout the fall:
http://www.zappos.com/kors-mic.....?zlfid=111

These scream "girly!" which I love even though I haven't bought Bass shoes in probably 20+ years!
http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....sultback=0
