Thank you for the suggestions ! Thanks Mona, Suz, and Rachylou.

The gray is intended to be shorter on purpose, to skim over and not bunch, but maybe there is a sweet spot an inch longer that is needed. Sigh. Also, to work with some other pants where high-hip top works and possibly with skirts where shorter top works. It might be too short for the Kuts since they ride low!
i will do some SYC and see.

Marley, thanks, I think something like a long necklace would be more current and would help the proportions. Re: the rust--I actually can wear a number of warmish colors, just not super orangey yellow, and rust works pretty well in certain shades. This certainly photo'd a bit bright but IRL it seems not too assertive--clay-rust.
Thank you missvee and Thistle!

The paisley top is kind of wild card. It is a green which I don't usually wear but combined with black, brown, hot pink and white that "gets me" and seems to go with several bottoms. So it may be an experiment!

My favourite sweaters are 1 and 2. I'd love to see the grey one with the white Kuts. I think grey and white is such a nice colour combination for the summer.

Nice haul! I love the cut of the rust sweater - but am wondering if you wear cool or warm colors better? That definitely looks like a warm color to me, so just asking! I love the paisley one too - and this could easily go into fall. On the first one (gray) I'm wondering if it would look better tucked or semi-tucked? The length just seems a bit "off" to me - also, I think I'd like it better with a longer necklace to draw the eye down - that might make the sweater appear a bit longer (which I think would be a good thing!)

I like the rust and blue sweaters and the pencil skirt. The two sweaters esp. because of the length. Very au courant.

Well, I think you've done some great refreshing here. These sweaters give you some unstructured structure and are nice buys! As Mona said, the rust one will work for fall as well, and so will the others, perhaps, with slightly different stylings. Would love to see the grey one with the white Kuts, too.

It is true you may have purged similar sweaters years ago -- I did! But they would not have looked as great as these, if you had saved. That is how fashion goes.

I really really like these sweaters and the way you have styled them for dressy and casual occassions. Rust sweater fits you very well and will be a very good piece for fall. The paisley sweater is fun and summery especially with white kuts.

Feeling out of sorts with my summer workwear options. I had said I was going to just bide and wait for fall planning. I lied. I am trying some summer refreshing .

Here is part of what I did—I got a few tops at Loft ( I swear I had sworn off Loft) and a few items at WHBM. Showing 3 Loft tops and a WHBM skirt in potential outfits.

1-Gray loose-knit sweater, AT cotton-blend pants from last year. Red reptile flats were my best available option to be a little dressier than clunkier slip-ons.

2-3 Rust cotton sweater with new WHBM pencil skirt (with wedge pumps only for special) and with Kuts.

4-5 Paisley sweater with pencil skirt & with new woven white belt with Kuts

The 3 sweaters are to help with my feeling that I needed boxier tops. All 3 seem to go with black pants, several pencil skirts, and blue and white jeans and can shift from summery to fall-ish color palette depending on accessories. The rust sweater looks pretty good over a buttondown as well for cooler temp. The large-yarn weaves skew more casual than may be my wardrobe goal for work, but I think okay for summer. Would like to try with different jewelry such as pendant necklace.

A pencil skirt in this type color has been on my wish list and just turned up. Note—I do not have low-heeled footwear for it currently, but have aspirations for one of several types of nude-ish flats, to create a spring-summer alternative for my occasional skirt days. So, am counting on its being classic enough to wait.

I have the odd feeling I may have purged sweaters like 1 & 2 some decades ago, but I like them. These are not “investment” pieces but I would want them to work for summer into fall.

Do you think these items can function as style refreshers with existing pieces? I should have shown more dark work pants, perhaps. Styling options? Thank you for reading and comments.
