I love that place. </p> <p>The rose garden is pretty spectacular. You know that there's a play structure right there and you can catch the zoo train and ride it right into the zoo, right? The train is really fun for the kiddos and it is a lovely ride around Washington Park and the zoo. I was just on it on Friday. Never fails to amuse the under 10 set. </p> <p>Have a great time! And I really want to see the rose garden, which somehow I have never seen in multiple Portland trips! Plus, well, the boy will obviously be there with me, and he really hates shopping - although ironically if we *do* get anything, it will likely be for him! Lord knows he needs new pants. My folks come up here each summer from Arizona and need to wear jeans and LS sleeve shirts for a few days until they acclimate! </p> <p>Definitely bring layers. Monday and Tuesday are supposed to be high 80s going down to low 60s in the evenings. The rest of the week looks like lower 80's during the day. Jeans and layers will absolutely be appropriate, especially for evenings. It's cool in the morning for sure. Below 70 is an awful Summer in my book. Cold :(</p> <p>Anything over 30 degrees Celsius is what I call a hot Summer - with or without humidity. I think that's 88 Fahrenheit and above. Below 30 degrees is not hot (for me). </p> <p>And then all this talk of hot and cold goes haywire when you're in A/C :(.
