Zoie, FC and Joy:  Thanks for the encouragaement! Vix:  You have me pegged!  I do love color, but not all colors love me.  What I'm trying to decide is:  Has my complexion changed significantly enough to be altering the colors I wear.  The biggies are the same, I think:  sapphire (a bit deeper than cobalt) and deepest purple are my best.  Deep raspberry is also good -- but I'm a bit bored of it at the moment.  Mustard, pistachio, khaki and some greys  are a horror.  I used to love black, but now feel just a bit haggard in it.  Navy to the rescue! However, I know you're very happy wearing the colors that make you look your best, so I'd be diligent about making sure your love of a color/item that's *not* in that category is really ok with you. Accessories and prints that have the color(s) are a safer way to play, so your shoes and scarf may be better than the blazer.  [Me, I love orange and leaf-to-lime green, which make me look like death but are such lovely spring and summer colors I can't resist them in minor doses!] Enjoy finding your fun pick-ups...love that scarf! Tanya:  Saw that in the store, too, although they didn't have my size.  Love it!  I do wear turquoise -- which works pretty well for me.  Aqua, I love, but I think it's a bit pale.   Kathleen:  I love puppies, too!  And a bright color in classic shapes is always a way to keep people from blinking hard when they see me coming! Angie:  Really beautiful!  Yes, that's more vibrant than I imagined, and I love it.  Now, my skin will appear more golden in the shade.  Perhaps that's OK now.  My skin tone isn't as sallow as it was in my twenties, and I'm finding with a bit more uneven tone, and, um, more purple under my eyes, that bringing out the warm tones in my skin makes me look healthy and sunkissed (with no suntan). The colours look great, and a bit warmer seems fine to me. I think your main colour palette is great too. I think there's room for quite a few bright colours in your accessories, including green, yellow and pink. Angie:  Yes, both the shoes and jacket are much closer to orange --- a sort of salmon-y red -- the sort of red I would have rejected a few years ago.  I just purchased the jacket.  I'll try to get pics.  As for orchid or lilac, I haven't worn either shade in years, but it would be a feminine, fresh complement to my "basic" shades.  I'll keep an eye out for it.  I think I've seen some items in BR in this colorway. Rabbit:  I'm seeing the shade everywhere too, but I suspect it'll to bright for some --  I don't seem to have the 'sophisticated neutral' gene. Jenn:  I just did!  I purchased the jacket and shoes.  I'll be playing with them in different combinations, and checking out the shade near my face in different lights, in the next day or so. Lisap:  I do like the idea of the two wildly different pairings --- poppy or lilac, depending on my mood.  I feel like I've tired of magenta/raspberry for the moment, although I have a few pieces left that I enjoy, and I will only add cobalt if the piece is superb -- I'm ready to branch out a bit. My Spring/Summer wardrobe will feature navy, chambray and white, with doses of cobalt and black.  I feel like an accent color (or 2) is in order.   I purchased the shoes below, and am considering the purchase of the blazer and am stalking the scarf, waiting for a sale. I've been dubious --there is more orange in this red than the photo of either the shoes or jacket shows, and I've always worn a cool red.  However, I like this fresh and trendy color, and I think it would pair nicely with my navy, chambray and white.   Other options would be bright green or yellow , in place of the poppy red -- although I can only wear a cool green near my face, unless I want to look jaundiced! These items are mostly classic, although the loafers do have a certain retro quality, and the cut of the jacket (nice detail in the back, not as long on me) would work over skirts as well as straight or wide leg pants. The scarf is prettier and softer in person, with a great retro floral. Any suggestions?  Reservations?  Feedback?
