We're already in 'non essential' lockdown (you can still grocery shop etc with contact tracing &amp; at least 2 vaccination doses, but gyms etc are closed) &amp; cannot quarantine at home. So am fairly anxious about being sent away to a government facility if I do contract it (I hope they'll be kinder this time around about allowing couples/ families to quarantine together, at least - we had a case where the children were separated from their parents because they caught COVID...)</p> <p>I know the symptoms of the Omicron variant aren't necessarily as 'strong' as previous iterations, but we also had a case of a 3 year old child dying here after contracting it (kids that young don't get vaccinated here). Almost everyone I know has had it, including those who are triple vaxxed, with my own triple vaxxed family a strange exception. Although it is mild for most younger people, please be cautious particularly with the most vulnerable. I think I'm the only one on my team who hasn't gotten it. It has caused workforce shortages in many of the industries here during the peak, causing moredelays in shipping and logistics, restaurant closures, etc. My state has done away with indoor mask mandates and vaccine requirements for events, but my county is still keeping indoor masking in place for now. I will continue wearing a mask anytime I am with people. Of course, the high risk environments where I spend much of my work time will continue mask requirements (homeless shelters, nursing homes, hospitals), as well as on public transportation. Schools are also wearing masks for now. What we have seen with Omicron is that fully vaxed and boostered people are getting it, but it isn't usually as severe as those who are not. It's difficult, we need to move forward but also protect the vulnerable in particular, and there is no perfect solution. Echoing those who say all reports seem to be that *most* properly vaxxed folks seem to be having mild symptoms. You've done the right things and can take some comfort in that. We have similarly high vax rates here and even though things are opening, severe numbers (e.g. hospitalizations) seems to be declining nonetheless. Please God may it continue.
