Ha, Kyle. That's hilarious!

Related question for Angie and anyone else: any tricks on how to wear popped collars with long hair? I have a short neck and long hair and the combination means my jacket collar will not stay popped no matter what I do, plus it makes my hair hang funny. Is the only solution to pin up my hair? I don't wear stiff shirts so I'm just talking about the collar on things like my denim jacket or maybe a blazer - not things I can starch.

Hilarious.

No one has tried to un-pop my collar yet. I'd probably scare them to death with my facial expression if they tried.

None of my collars are starched. I think my very long neck helps keep my collars popped by acting as a supporting foundation.

I'm going to try starching it up into the popped position and see what happens. It would be harder to push back down that way...

I think you've totally hit on something important Suz - it has to look intentional. When combining the popped collar with scrunched sleeves I think it looks more intentional - like you are changing the item to suit your style.

This has not happened to me, either, and I almost always pop my collars. I wonder if it has happened to Angie?

I don't know if there is a trick to making it look intentional. I know that i almost always roll my sleeves or scrunch them if I am popping a collar. And I tend to do it when I'm mixing high and low...denim with the crisp shirt...that type of thing.

Too funny! I guess it would get annoying though. I haven't had this happen yet, and I pop my collars often.

Oh my gosh - I've had this too! I had a co-worker actually take my collar and start to put it back down and when I said very politely "I'm actually wearing it like that on purpose" , seemed quite confused as to why I would want to do that (lol)!

Starch spray does indeed work for me too. And people have tried to fix my collar as well

I like starch too, for my cotton "winter" shirts. I have been wearing a lot of the nylon blend sun protection shirts this summer and struggle what to do with the collars on them...

LOL, Kyle! I did start using spray starch with my button down shirts to get the collars a bit crisper. I'm not sure if it makes a difference or not, although I *think* it does.

Love a popped collar. Every time I wear it, without fail, someone either "fixes" it for me or points out that it needs to be "fixed." Does this happen to you? Is there a secret to achieving an intentionally popped look that people will not want to correct? Do you need to use a special ironing technique or starch to keep things from drooping? Very curious to hear your experiences.
