Patience, I don't know how much you want to spend on this, or if this one is large enough, but I just found this on Etsy and think it's kind of cute (I can't resist stripes;-)

I 2nd the lighter weight! My kids will typically each carry their own towel & did when they were younger as well (for the most part). I like one with a fun color to go with my suit & to have some type of extra pockets for a little stash of cash, cell phone, etc. I have a little plastic zipper one that originally came with a different bag that I just switch from bag to bag as it's waterproof & I can toss my cell phone in it. I found as soon as my daughter was old enough she needed her own bag for the pool as well. My son could care less, he just wants a towel!

I carry a HUGE, flat, tote basket - one I bought on a market in Paris. It's fabulous. Light, strong, roomy and I suppose very Euro.

I have two teens, and when they were small I took a great big tote for everything. But- they carried their own towels, and I think the reason this worked so well was that their grandmother sent them each special towels- for my son, a hooded dinosaur towel and my daughter had a frog towel. Sounds goofy, I know, but it saved me lots of lugging. They loved those things.

If your kids are past that age, of course, they can just lug their own towels.

If you want humongous, look for the lightest fabric you can find. I have the very largest size of the LL Bean canvas tote, and I swear it weighs more empty than I feel like lugging! Especially in the heat.

Better yet, give everybody his/her own smaller bag so Mom doesn't have to do all the lugging. I love all the ones shown at the top of this page: http://www.delight.com/advance.....+tote+bags

I've been looking at the cute patterned ones at Target, since it's just my stuff that needs to fit. Once I settle on a bathing suit color, I'll pick out a tote that doesn't clash. It can fit my towel, but it doesn't have to; the towel would not be stuffed in there for the return trip after swimming because it will be too wet, so I might as well just carry it separate going to the pool too.

I carry a large LL Bean tote. I love it. It stands up on its own!

Another idea is to have the kiddos carry their towels around their necks. I should have done that with my kids earlier. The towels are so heavy all in one tote.

What kind of tote do you bring to the pool? Is it large enough to hold the towels too? With two kids, that makes three towels and lots of stuff (sunscreen, snacks, toys, clothes) to tote around. This year I'm considering getting a cute tote for the stuff and carrying the towels separately but I don't know that that will be practical. But it's hard to find a humongous and cute tote. Thoughts?
