I thought the Zara ponte's felt quite sturdy, the fabric definitely has some weight.
Personally, i wouldn't wear them as pants but with a longer top and boots they would rock.

You might want to check the Really Skinny Pants from Gap. I just got these and have heard good things about them on YLF. I needed something morer substantial than the leggings I have from last year. My choices are more limited because I need a 34" inseam but lucked out and found them in store.

! hi Allison! by chance i was at zara today and the only thing i tried on were those very pants......they are quite substantial with a nice amount of stretch. i would be comfortable wearing them as pants, even with tops that hit a couple of inches above the crotch. (and i'm pretty modest that way). hth! steph

Hey thanks for the suggestion. I don't have a Zara store anywhere near me but evidently I can order online! I found these:

http://www.zara.com/webapp/wcs.....3/LEGGINGS

Do ya'll think these would work as pants as shown on the model? Does anyone own leggings from Zara? I have never purchased anything from them. Decent quality? True to size? Thanks for your help!

I am on the lookout for some heavy knit ponte leggings to wear this fall/ winter. Similar to these minus the price tag and the ugly zipper on the back:

http://www.jcrew.com/womens_ca...../31090.jsp

I would like to wear these as pants (with a somewhat longer top/ jacket) so they have to be really thick. Any recommendations? (preferably under 30 dollars- that may be asking alot!)
