I think once you've done it you are ok, I have a coat that went through the wash and it has been immune since, I wash it often and never changes! But I guess what JR said, it probably depends on the fiber content.

Depends on the fibre content. Ponte knits can be made out of various fibres.

That happened to me with a top a while back. I washed it in the delicate cycle, hung it to dry and only then found the label saying Dry Clean Only. It was fine. I suspect you can probably do the same thing. If it shrank, it could have some cotton in it, in which case, washing and hanging to dry should work well.

I just bought these at the Nordstrom sale:
http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/jo.....sultback=0

I threw them in the washer and dryer without even thinking, then noticed the label says Dry Clean Only. Oops!

I did notice some shrinkage but that was welcome since these are regular sized and I'm petite.

So, can I continue to wash and wear (maybe hang dry), or would you all recommend just dry cleaning only, from now on? I'm a total newbie when it comes to ponte knit.

Thanks!
