I just went back to my cart to "visit" the dress, and the next size up was already sold out! So I ordered it now, even though it's not May yet... sticking to one item a month is tricky when items go so fast!

Hm, I didn't think the dress looked too body con - maybe I will try two sizes to be sure. My CCV dress is pretty close-fitting, and it goes over fine, but yeah, I've rejected skin-tight bodycon styles before for this reason.

As long as you are sure the dress is work appropriate then I say go for the dress first. The color is beautiful as is the design and i can so see you wearing this. Really it could double as a work dress (with jacket) and then suitable for dinner out (without jacket). #2 really like these. #3 are hard for to judge as they are just so not my cup of tea. Im not sure they are 'good enough' for you Rae.

OK, it is just me thinking that this dress is a bit too body-con for work? (you said you need a work dress). It is a great dress and lovely color but I would be uncomfortable in it at work even with a jacket on.
Maybe it is my old age talking...:-)

I suspect both the peeptoes and the slides have the some shape in the front cutaway toebox area --- if peeptoes don't feel comfy, that slide might not either! Just a thought...

Agree with others that the dress seems the more immediately useful item. And I think the texture substitutes well for pattern in terms of visual interest, unless you wanted it specifically for pattern mixing?

Wow, great dress! I love it! I like the sandals in #2 although I have problems wearing peeptoes, so I don't know if they would be super comfy. #3 might be okay if I saw them styled, but I'm having a hard time visualizing them in outfits.

I say go for the dress first. You can wear it now with a jacket and boots if it's cool and then transition it into the warmer weather with sandals. The sandals aren't an immediate need.

That dress if fantastic BTW!

That dress would be an awesome purchase I very versatile and it will work great with your coloring! I think #3 would look good with shorts, but# 2 would make more of a fashion statement

Ok, looks like #3 has been officially deemed unfab. Off the list they go!

So it's between the dress and the gray sandals. Hm, I think Mo is right that the dress comes first - high summer shouldn't get here until about July, and I do have other sandals in the mean time. Thanks for the input!

I love the dress and sandals in#2 pic. Not a fan of #3 though-it looks comfortable and Lord knows, I am all about comfortable shoes but maybe I feel this way because my MIL wears simular shoes and she is 75

I really like 1 and 2. Very modern for spring. I'm not so fond of #3 but maybe I just can't envision them styled to perfection. In any case, I marvel at how you stick to a tight budget.

I would go for the dress. It's a more immediate need, it sounds like. But the bane of the budget sometimes has me choosing what I want more than what I need, so I get the ambivalence! For instance, I should be looking for a pair of shorts for the coming season but instead I'm in blouse mode. Oh yeah, and trousers. Not exactly warm weather items . . . but it did just snow a couple days ago so maybe I have excuse for my seasonally mixed up shopping list

That is a gorgeous dress. I love the color and style. I like shoe #3 but they look way more casual because they are slides. I also like #2 if they are walkable.

So I'm not off to the most practical start with SYB, but I don't regret a bit of it. March's purchase was my long, black Norma Kamali for Walmart trench. April's was the same trench in beige, plus dye to turn it citron.

Trying to focus back on my wish list for May, which basically comes down to: work dress, casual hi-low dress, comfy walking sandals that aren't nude or black. What do we think of these items? LOVE the color and pleating/draping/whatever on the dress, but I had thought I wanted a print. Maybe it doesn't matter since I have so few work dresses? Or perhaps the texture works as well as a print would? I would wear this with my cropped jackets as a FFBO formula. #2 is a variation on Vicki's suggestion for me, though I wonder how well they would go with shorts and how much I can really walk in a peep toe. #3 would definitely be comfortable... but is it ugly? I can't tell, lol.
