Eh, I don't know how hot it gets where you are, but the thought of a poly sundress has me sweating already. Yeah, the ventilation will help the moisture dry out better than if the dress was clingy, but it'll still make it more sticky than a breathable fabric.

If she likes them, she'll wear them no matter how hot they are! Funny, we have static in the dry part of our summer here (not so much in winter).

Thanks! She found two adorable dresses at Target but both were polyester. I thought it might be okay since they are loose and sleeveless but she was worried about static. I'll have her read this and see if she will let me go back and buy at least one of them for her! Thanks again!

My liberty of london for target sundress is poly and fine for really hot days, but it is floaty, loose-fitting, and sleeveless. I wouldn't want to wear anything poly with sleeves or anything clingy in the hot humid weather, since the thought of all that sweat makes me feel ill. I don't have issues with static without hosiery, and in any case, I usually only have static issues in the wintertime.

I have one that's a breezey cut and it was okay in moderate heat. Poly won't breathe so the cut (floaty skirt, open arm holes) really matters for comfort in the heat. I think mine occasionally got static if sliding out of a fabric car seat or that kind of thing.

Kelly, I think that you are right about static. I experience it in the winter and with wool.

I think that if it a gauzy material that she will be ok.

I had an A-line polyester dress. It didn't get clingy unless I tried to wear it with hosiery - terrible idea. It was also a bit too warm when it was really hot, because it didn't breathe at all.

Hmmm...I bought several polyester blouses at NAS that have been great - no static. The only thing I'd worry about with a sundress is that it might get too hot. Poly doesn't breathe.

Would you wear one if it was easy and breezy? DD is worried about static cling but she would wear it sans hosiery--do you think it will be an issue? I have a few polyester shells which I thought only got statc-y when the air is dry (winter.) Any thoughts?
