I agree with pewter, plus its readily available right now. It is very neutral with the undertones of it, unlike bronze, gold, etc. I'd like to find a pair for this season as well.

Also I recently purchased some t-strap sling backs and I enjoy them very much. If they are comfortable, go for it. The neutral color will help in lengthening the leg, unlike a black or dark brown ankle strap.

Michelle, can't wait to see your sandals! I personally like t strap sandals and thong styles because it gets so hot and humid here. I need really light shoes that won't slip around when my feet get sweaty.
I actually picked up a matte gold pair and a silver pair last month, and I wear them both constantly. I have large ankles as well, and I've found that shoes nearer my skin tone (ie: the matte gold ones) with as low an ankle strap as possible aren't as unflattering as a mary jane or higher ankle strap.

Thanks guys. I think I may have found something. It's a pewter thong-style with the perfect wedge heel height, and I think it'll be quite comfortable once the leather has stretched a bit (it's definitely real leather, so it will give). One style question, though: it's a t-strap with sling-back. Are t-straps ylf approved or would they draw attention to my ankles, which are most definitely not fab? I didn't go for gladiators for that reason, I know ankle straps are a bad idea plus they tend to drive me mad.

Pewter or silver, because you wear mostly cool colors. They are similar in color, so don't limit yourself. How they feel is really the most important aspect.

Michelle, I bought the Bronze Me Too Nadias partly because that was the only metallic they had in my size at the time. I did also try the silver Nadias in one of the bigger sizes and that particular shade didn't look too hot on me. Then again I am much darker than you; silver and pewter will look awesome on you.

I have both bronze and pewter footwear and both seem to go with everything. If I had to make a choice, I'd go with the pewter.
If you don't find pewter but love a sandal in silver, go for it. Silver is a great summer neutral too. Shiny gold is my least favorite among the metallics for footwear although I love gold jewelry.

I think bronze and pewter are the most versatile choices. I'm looking for (affordable, comfortable) sandals in those colors as well.

Hi, i think you should consider the Bronze.
I wear a lot of Blues & Greens & i think Bronze goes nicely with these shades.
I don't think Bronze necessarily has to go with Brown shades at all! (I suppose you'll see for yourself when you actually try on the different colours).

But let us know what you end up getting!

I second Ele's suggestion Michelle. Pewter would be very versatile, and I personally like it better than some of the shiny, sparkly silver options out there.

You can't go wrong with a wedge heel;-)

Hi, Michelle. Based on the colours your wear, and the fact that you wear mostly silver jewelry, I would make pewter your top choice for a sandal. Silver would also work, but I tend to think pewter is more practical for everyday wear in a city, as it's darker.

Ok, I'm going sandal shopping this morning in quest of a low-heeled (preferrably wedge), metallic sandal that will be my go-to sandal for the summer. I wear lots of black, white, red, blue etc with turquoise and purple making fairly regular appearances. I really don't wear a lot of brown, which is why I'm not sure if I should be going for a bronze sandal. Oh and I almost always wear silver jewelry (thoush I'm searching for ylf-approved pearls too). So, ladies, tell me which metallic shade would be the most vercitile! Despite our great chat about metallics a few weeks ago, I still struggle with this concept, as they're hard to visualize.
