I am usually carrying at least my phone and it is too heavy to be comfortable in a pocket. </p> <p>I recently got a phone case that is also my wallet and quite like it. It is very handy to have everything I need in one item and came with a crossbody strap so I can carry it hands free. Of course the danger is if I lose it, I lose everything, so I hang on to it pretty tightly. I do usually carry a small bag though, when I am out for a day. Plus, I wear glasses including prescription sunglasses, so if I’m going anywhere that will require me to change glasses, I’m stuck with a bag of some sort. </p> <p>That said, I go to a lot of concerts with just my car key, ID/credit card, and a lipstick in a pocket, plus phone, which is the big item. Usually I try to wear a topper with a pocket for it, or jeans with a decent back pocket (although that’s not really a cute look on a 50-something mom bod, I’m sure). But last year I bought a little MZ Wallace crossbody bag that fits phone and basic essentials and gets into any venue without needing to check it (more and more common these days). It’s smaller in reality than it looks in this photo! My area requires that one bring their own bags for purchases so no room in pockets. My small bag contains my phone ( large I-phone that does not stay securely in pockets), a glucose meter and billfold, tissues and snack items, sometimes insulin and pills and blood meter, tiny makeup touch up bag. My large bag contains extra bags for purchases, masks ( yes, I still wear them for safety and am one of many wearing them. ). Extra tissues and papers I may need. I also need keys, a comb, shoe hornand a pen and small notebook. The bag is usually light weight. I used to do this a lot in uni. I would only take my driver's licence, cash, and a debit or credit card to go to the pub or club. Purses were a pain with a high probability to leave them behind/lose. Plus, putting them on a sticky table was a turnoff and dancing with them was annoying! </p> <p>These days, yes I will use pockets to go for a walk. I only bring my phone and keys. Yesterday, I wore a dress with pockets and had a small purse. I put my car keys in my pocket just because it was easier. Even if I KNOW I didn't bring one, that panic will hit me every single time I notice I don't have a bag. So I've given up. I always carry a purse, a tote, or on rare occasion a crossbody (for fairs and the like).
