I vote retire the old boots. The new boots are lovely! Might as well get the most CPW out of them that you can now that it's boot weather outside.

I love seeing your Angie ensembles. You always choose such beautiful ways to interpret them, and this is no exception. The new boots look amazing. It sounds like the magic is gone for the old boots - I think it is probably time to let them go, especially since you have already found a replacement that you love.

I love your outfits, especially the first one. The new boots are great. The old ones are fine too & I know how hard it is to find tall boots for skinny calves. Perhaps put them in a holding zone. I wouldn't repair them yet, wait until you think you might use them. Unless the repair is cheap.

We are boot twins! I have these same boots in this same color. Of course these look fantastic on you. I would let the other ones go unless you love them irrationally.

I love both looks. The grey skirt look is particularly great. Really love that little kick pleat detail on the skirt. I am trying not to buy winter skirts (since I don't wear the ones I have enough), but I am really tempted!

Re: the boots. The new ones are amazing and I agree the old ones are not so exciting next to them. I guess I would base the decision on whether to keep on comfort. If they are super comfortable, I would keep them for days with a lot of walking, or bad weather, or whatever. But I often find that when shoes get old, they wear down in hidden places and become less comfortable.

If it helps, I literally just took a pair of boots to the cobbler today to get the heels replaced. I know it's time when my heels get so unbalanced I start feeling like I'm going to trip all the time. It cost me $25. I find that the replacement heels often last longer because they are better quality, and you can ask for the ones with more traction too.

ETA: In my experience, I usually get my boots reheeled once but once the heels wear down a second time, there are usually too many other things wrong with the shoe that are not fixable/extremely expensive to fix.

Thank you ladies, glad the outfit is a success.

I am seriously considering retiring the old grey boots. The heel is quite worn, at an angle, so even for keeping them for bad weather I would still need to bring them to the cobbler, which just might not be worth it.

Love the boots and the whole outfit. That looks like the kind of outfit that could go pretty much anywhere!

Agree that the old boots are worth retiring unless you need a pair just to keep around for bad weather or whatever.

The new boots look great in the tonal outfit Tanya. I think they were a great purchase. I agree with CJH. You could keep the old ones for wet days or when you are just running errands as a relief pair.

Love your outfits. Keep the boots for stomping outside or a spare in the trunk of your car, but otherwise, the new ones are so good, you won't even want to wear the old ones.

Love the outfit in 1 head to toe. The new boots are fantastic on you. I'm not crazy about the old boots. It's hard to tell but I think they would look better if styled with jeans. I had a pair of MM that were similar that I just got rid of. I kept them around for events where I knew my shoes would get abused. Perhaps these can be a back up pair?

Today I am wearing one of rare Angie' ensembles that I did not put into practice immediately, since I can not wear skirts to work. So it is a pencil skirt and relaxed pullover for running around today. I went for tonal look in various shades of grey. The BR skirt is a subtle charcoal plaid (closeup in #3) that has fun kick pleats in the back. The sweater is Vince tri-color turtleneck in three shades of grey. For the outside I added my navy/black mixed media pea coat, silver satchel and blue-grey sunnies. #5 is a bonus WIW from last night, worn to a ballroom social, which consists of teal silk halter top and black flare velvet jeans. Please excuse the wrinkles, I took the photo after I got home at the end of the night so lots of dancing left its mark.

So, onto the boots: the ones I am wearing in the photos are brand new grey Zindas that Rae posted a while ago and that were an Angie pick. I have been eying them for a while but could not justify them as I had tall grey boots already suitable to be worn with skirts. I pulled out these old boots a couple of weeks ago to wear at my birthday (#6), and while I did wear them, they felt really off. I have had them for 5 years and they show lots of signs of wear: the front part, at the toes, is scuffed and discolored. The heels are really worn at an angle and un-balanced. They also do not feel that modern. So, when I noticed that Zindas are on big sale, plus a coupon, I pounced because it is really tough to find tall boots that fit my chicken calves. I am very happy with them, they are a definitive keeper and I have worn them already. The question now is, should I keep the old grey boots and try to have them mended by a cobbler or should I just let them go. Do they look dated? As I said, it is super difficult finding boots that fit my calves.
