Vicki, of course you made sense! And thank you for checking in while you are sick!

The ginghams are different styles and different fabrications. The blue checked BR shirt is a light cotton flannel, so it feels softer and warmer than the very crisp cotton of the J. Crew. In my climate, this can make a difference. I tend not to reach for my very crisp shirts in our cold weather when I want something warmer and cozier. If I lived in your climate, I don't think I would want to be wearing flannel very often.

Angie, thank you. I went out for an appointment this morning and think I overdid it a bit. I need to go slow and steady for a while.

Eliza, I am impressed at your own efforts to be online, considering that you are facing health challenges of your own right now!

And Neel, you're a sweetie.

Glad you're feeling better, Suz. I really like your first outfit and it looks stylish, cozy and comfortable.

I like your willpower in returning what doesn't quit work and only keeping that which does. In chatting with Marley about "split wear" I'm curious about your thought process behind the gingham shirt from BR. You have the gingham J. Crew shirt and while it is a tuxedo shirt, and the plaid size is smaller, do you wear these two shirts in different ways or is it so that you'll have one gingham ready to go? I hope I've made sense here. I'm just getting over a cold, too.

So glad you are starting to feel better! The worst is over I guess! :)

Beautiful rendition of Angie's ensemble. Nailed it! You know, I always try to create this ensemble but it never works well for some reason. The main reason being, I don't own anything grey! Except for my oxfords. I would have to work around that and see what I could come up with.

Yay for your new dress! What a perfect at-home look. I was surprised to see so many people on the other thread don't consider tights comfortable; I've always found mine to be very comfy as long as I don't twist them when putting them on! Whereas jeans and I have a trickier relationship...funny how comfort means different things to different people.

Thanks, lovely ladies. You are balm for the soul....I am definitely on the mend. I have improved as the day has gone on. Almost no coughing!!! :)

Sharan, you caught me out. It is still true I have the tights problem with my kitty.

But...what I realized is that he strangely isn't as destructive to my opaque tights.

When I am bare-legged or in nude hose or micro-fishnets, or any kind of thin, delicate, fancy hose, he has a habit of stretching up and hooking his little claws into them. Instant hose ruination!!!

Weirdly, he doesn't do it when I am wearing pants! (Or maybe I just don't notice it as much.)

And he seems to regard dark tights as pants substitutes. Which sounds really weird. But -- it's a fact that I have had these Hue tights for several years and they only have one little catch in them (not a run, and it's not in a visible place). Admittedly, I don't wear them a ton, but I have been wearing them SOME. And he hasn't ruined them.

So I decided to take a risk with tunics/ dresses that would look okay with heavier weight opaques. Much as I would love to "lighten up" with nude hose, I also need the thicker tights for winter warmth. So this is all an experiment to see how it feels over the longer term.

;)

Fantastic outfit, Suz! I love the long cardigan over the dress. What a fun, current look. And it's so good to hear you are feeling at least a little better! May the trend continue.
I have a question, though, and perhaps you've covered it on another post. . . . after you've said you don't wear dresses at home because tights and your kitties do not mix well, what changed? (If there are indestructible tights available, do tell! I don't have cats, but I do manage to ruin my share of tights at work.)

Thank you, Sveta!

Departing from my closet: My old jersey black sleeveless dress. It was far, far past its prime and I think I only wore it once last year as a result. Three years ago it was a winter staple of my at-home (and out of the house) wardrobe.

I have not decided if any shirts will depart. My two BR fitted shirts are on probation and I might let both of them go. If I do not let anything go, it is okay. A lot of my shirts are spring/ summer/ fall weight for me -- not as easy to wear in winter. So I have space in the closet for this. :)

Thanks, all! I will be so glad when this sickness is over!!

So, in the meantime... a report for those who asked.

Tanya, the Sloan pants just didn't thrill me. They looked fine...but I wasn't sure about the fit; I had ordered up (had to as that was all that was left) and I felt I was betwixt and between sizes, if you know what I mean. I just didn't like the way they sat on me. Plus, I have a strange hesitation about wearing coloured pants. I love to wear patterned pants, and equally love coloured skirts, but coloured pants are somehow harder for me.

The plaid of the shirt was just slightly too large scaled for me, and too high contrast. It would have been fine purely as a layering piece but at that price I wanted more versatility.

Vivian, the dress is navy. It also comes in a pale silvery grey and in a grey stripe that is a direct copy of a James Perse dress I saw on the Nordstrom's website last night. I ordered XS. I think S would be good on you for sure. It will give you a bit more length, too. I considered sizing up, but for me, the neckline would get too sloppy if I did that.

I went back to see your last posts on these, and I think you have made the right choices(some of those are indeed to short to my eyes)! I see your mind is in control, clear and strong:-), hope the body is recovering quickly, too! Love the navy dress dembombshelled here with the grey BF cardi-and will love to see the blue gingham shirt, asap. Get well, Suz!

Gorgeous, Suz! Glad you're slowly feeling better. Take it easy.

Wow - great control by sending so much stuff back. I'm glad the blue check shirt worked for you. Curious about the red one myself....

I am late to the party but am in love with your Zara ink booties. Always love them when you wear them.
