I joke, but I have cobalt, brown and lime green Crocs. No rubbing, cushy, easy on and sock can fit in if extra warmth is needed. Oh and they're easy to clean.

I'm either in bare feet, or, if it's chilly, classic sand-coloured Ugg boots. Mine are the ones that come midway up your calf. I never really wear them outside.

I generally hate wearing shoes inside, but last winter I was suffering from feet that wouldn't stay warm and happened upon these down booties from REI. They are not glamorous, but they are SO warm I don't even care!

Once it starts cooling down, I'll be back in these.

My house shoes need a clean... I love them, but I don't recommend them. They're basically leather socks. No support, no protection against stubbing your toe.

I neglected to mention what I often use like slippers, especially in summer...Smart Wool footies in a beige nude. They are just enough for foot warmth in indoor air conditioning and are easily fit into a bag to wear in shoe-free houses.

In summer I wear a pair of Dearfoams flip flops which I love (similar to the ones below), and in winter it's a pair of cheapo moccasins from Target. I definitely am in need of a more substantial, arch supporting winter pair. I find socks alone to be to slippery on the hardwood floors, and I dislike going barefoot anywhere except in the shower!

I do love to go barefoot but have been having foot pain issues more these days. I found these slippers at Bed Bath and Beyond not long ago and they are super comfy! I haven't had them long so I can't speak to their durability. Just comfort! http://www.bedbathandbeyond.co.....-blue.html

On the much pricier end of the spectrum, I just found this site that is very intriguing! I have not even tried a pair of these, but wow do they look great! http://mahabis.com

I try to go barefoot whenever possible, but last winter I discovered the Restoration Hardware foot duvets and LOVE them. Not sure if the sole is structured enough for you; still, mine are in good enough shape to wear again this year and my toes tend to wear through shoes (just discovered today that my Franco Sarto Holts are half-destroyed in the lining, sigh).

Oh! A trick for the uggs is that if you are a women's size 8 or smaller you can buy the children's version for less money. My sister always buys the kids Ugg Dakotas, and I have tried hers on. They feel just like the women's ones. Too wide for me unfortunately. A "big kid" 6 is equal to women's 8.

Barefoot in the summer most of the time but I do have a pair of Birkenstock house shoes when I'm cooking all day for support. In the winter, I used to only wear socks but I'm so cold I had to break down and get warm slippers. I purchased Ugg Bailey's for house slippers or I wear my Giesswein boiled wool slippers depending on my outfit. I love my Giesswein slippers but they don't make the style any more so I collected a somewhat similar pair.

Gryffin, I think it's because I work from home. So I wear them most of the time and don't get to wear my nicer shoes. If I worked outside the home like you and put these on when I came home (and on weekends) they would be absolutely perfect and I wouldn't mind them, because in other ways they can't be beat. Yours was a terrific recommendation. The comfort and support for my foot is divine.

OH -- and here is where you get to chuckle at me -- I SHOULD HAVE ordered them in black!! I got them in what I thought was burgundy but turned out to be more of a soft rust. It's not an awful colour, but I'm sure the black would have felt more sophisticated. So my next pair (and yes, there WILL BE a next pair) will be black or charcoal if such exists. ;)

I also want to put another word in for the Uggs that Parsley showed. I ordered those to try last year as well and almost kept them - - they were absolutely gorgeous high quality slippers and I loved the tan colour I got as well as the navy she is showing. The only problem for me is that they would not stay on my feet due to my narrow heels. Otherwise, they were perfect.

Easy Spirit Traveltime. I wear them around the house and outdoors, but not often anywhere else, although I could. I buy a new pair every year or so and they can usually be found on sale online. They easily accommodate Superfeet berries.

This year I got silvery one with sparkles that my DH calls Princess Shoes. How would he know about princess anything?

It took me forever to find "house shoes" that I like, are comfortable, and practical for dashing outside with the pups. I wear the Merrell Breeze for spring/summer, merrel ice for fall/winter with socks. Totally comfy, long lasting, and I can run down to the mailbox and not worry about spoiling a fragile slipper. Maybe it's a reverse chic thing (hey I've got a a major thing for pure black nubuck hiking boots too) but I feel fab in them - practical, comfortable, pain free, happy feet and arches. I'm sure part of it is that since I'm usually in black leggings they blend but, nope, I don't feel experience Suz's frumpy feeling, I just feel happy!!

These won't work for you due to size, but currently I am wearing these men's slippers from Target (I have large feet so the men's size works). They are very comfy and affordable, which is important as I am also hard on my slippers. I bought them in Navy.

These are mine. I have 2 pair and wear them year round as my feet get cold in our home AC.

I wear dance shoes around the house. They have a very thin heel to avoid pain while stepping out to get the mail, but just a leather sole on the forefoot, which give them a barefoot sort of feel. But they definitely aren't supportive!

My winter slippers are the same LL Bean ones as mentioned above. In summer it's Vionic flip flops.
