I'm not a bag person, so I have maybe about 5 bags all of which mostly black. a neutral gray, and one summer caramel/tan. They are sitting up on top of my closet.

Thank you everyone, especially Angie for showing me her lovely collection!
Since I only have one main one right now, I suppose the contents will stay with it for now. I have a smaller baobao on the way and another smaller one on my list. I was hoping to perhaps have a small bag and a large in each colour of: Black, white, silver, navy, burgundy and Khaki (what we seem to call army green in the UK). It would take my total to 12!! I think I've only ever had like 3-4 at the most at any one time in my whole life. I've realised I'm a simple dresser who likes to use accessories as the stars of the outfits so this is where I'm going to focus most of my energy.

I am satchel and tote person. I have two zippered bags, one for makeup and toiletries and one for electronics, and move them from purse to purse when I swap. Then I only have to keep track of them and my keys. I have a ceramic garden stool in the entryway that I put the current bag on when when I get home, and the next day I either grab it, or swap to the new one on the way out.

Bags are my thing. I have 25 bags and they are ALL very well loved and worn! Pics below to show how I store them. Some bags have been replaced by others since these photos were taken.

No dust bags required. I wipe my bags down frequently. I take the contents out when I switch bags, which can be daily.

I have wrestled with this question as well. When I was working, I did use one of the inserts that chewyspaghetti mentions. Made it very easy to switch bags.

That's when I was using satchel bags, which are easy to store on a shelf. I think I learned from Angie that a good way to have the bags keep their shape is to fill one plastic bag with some sort of "stuffing" and put it inside the empty bag. For the record, I have never yet used a dust bag as such. I need to see what I have, and dust bags tend to be flannel or some other opaque material.

I now only use cross-body bags, which don't stand up nicely on a shelf, and I have not yet figured out the best way to store them. I do switch them out daily to go with an outfit, and usually I just remove card-case, phone, keys, and put those into the next bag. Needing to have my bag hanging from me (because I walk with crutches) has really pared down what I carry.

I'm jot a bag switcher, but I know that they sell bag organizers to go inside bags that you can remove and just pop into another bag. If you don't have one of those, you might set up a switching station, where you keep the things you need in your bag all together and can just grab and go, a la The Home Edit.

I keep my bags on the top shelf of the closet when the colors or fabrication is off season. Sosonal totes and sachels are hung on hooks attached to the sides of my shelves. Small bags are “filed” by color on 2 shelves and in a dresser drawer. I remove most things in the bags before putting them away. Some things like my billfold and car fobs get transferred to a new bag in use. Every bag has a comb and packet of tissues and most have a nylon shopping bag. I fill in as needed by my day. I store pieces that have not made it to a different bag in a basket in the closet. Masks are stored in their own basket. Containers of glucose tablets are in a drawer in my bedside table as I often have low blood glucose in the middle of the night. And when out in the daytime and not paying enough attention. I make sure my current bag has a tube full of the tablets plus protein bars, and sometimes cheese or nuts for a low carb snack or even meal. I nope this helps.

How do you store your bags and do you always take your things out of them and put them back in their dust bags every single time? I'm trying to think of the best system for keeping my bags looking good. I only have the one right now (but a Bao Bao is on its way) and i'm starting to think about how i'd like to switch between bags easily and where to store my things that would normally be stored in my current bag (Wallet, keys etc).

How do you manage yours? Bonus points if you include pictures
