The reason behind is that we tend to still recycle old garments into other things (bags, mats, baby clothes, doggie jackets) or give them to charity --- OR we barter them for stainless-steel kitchen containers and cookware. </p> <p>What I hadn't thought about was the final resting place of these bartered threads.
