There's a book or monograph out covering the changing position of the waistline throughout decades of women's clothes. Would be interesting to see if the focus on comfort and athletic and leisure styles causes the bustline to shift lower. I'm old enough to remember and have worn the No-Bra bra, just stretchy with no shaping.
