I can't help with the petite thing, but I've found that my pudgy stomach tends to look better in a jean with little or no spandex - it may be heresy around here, but I tend to prefer the old-fashioned style of jeans where it's 100% cotton, or at most 1% spandex/lycra. Stretch jeans also tend to bag out more easily.

The NYDJ I've tried on have been very stretchy and felt almost like a knit, which I don't like personally. Super-stretchy jeans don't work for me except as jeggings worn with a tunic, where the waist is not visible.

That said, what works for me may not work for you and I may be nuts.

James Jeans Hunter style have been my go-to jeans. The higher rise eliminates muffin top, and they don't bag after a few hours.

I would think a mid-rise jean would work for you. High enough to contain the muffin but not so high that it would constrict. I like Old Navy sweatheart skinnies better than most other skinnies but I have thicker thighs with my flat butt.

Good luck.

I'm not really an expert on jeans styles, so I'm bumping this for you, BM.
I do seem to remember that it's important that your jeans do not have more than 2% spandex, otherwise they'll stretch out very quickly.

I hope you'll find a fab pair soon!

I have never ever had a pair that fits right!

I am 5'0", 115 lbs, short legs and short torso because... well... I'm short. lol

I'm definitely an apple shape. After 2 kids (1 c-section) I am sporting a big ol' belly pouch. As a result, low-rise jeans give me a muffin top. I have slim legs, slim hips and a flat butt.

Typically, if I buy jeans that fit my waist, the butt sags and they are too big through my hips and thighs. If I buy jeans that hug my butt and hips nicely, they are so constricting at my tummy that I can't get them buckled.

Also, it seems that any jean with stretch ends up stretching out on me by the end of the day, so that I'm hitching up my pants to keep them from falling down. I've actually had my jeans fall to my knees while walking up the stairs!!

I just purchased 2 pairs of NYDJ on Amazon, but after reading reviews I am worried that they will look too matronly or have too high of a rise for me (I did buy the petites though).

Does anyone know where, oh where, I can find a pair of jeans that will hug my flat butt and small hips, not give my apple tummy a muffin top, and won't stretch out after 3 hours of wear?

Thanks so much!
