But, I think I'm keeping these but I admit I might still want some animal pumps and there were several other cute flats - one another Sperry, but more of a vinyl ballet flat and one (not Sperry) a vinyl or patent (waterproof at least) slipper. They sometimes call it pony too. If it was from a calf, the hair would be very fine textured. (Trust me, I'm a farm girl, I've touched a few calves.) If you have leather shoes or eat beef, calf hair is no better or worse. Of course, that's the rational side of it. If it makes you feel guilty, you shouldn't buy it.
