Thanks for the tip April! I saw they have stores in the UK, so I'll give them a try when I get there! Not sure about the back pockets though, I prefer them to be a bit lower than what they seem to be, but, I'll give them a try!

And yes, the feedback is amazing! Definitely making me see my current warderobe differently; I love it!

Karin - since the consensus is to try these with skinnies, what about some from (I know, I know, everyone hates this name) Not Your Daughter's Jeans? They have a tummy panel. I don't know how comfy they are, but give them a try. Nordstrom's seems to carry a ton of them.

Glad you're posting photos! You'll find the feedback incredibly helpful.

All you need is a skinny pair of jeans and these tops are in business, Karin. They look GREAT as tops! Sweet boat shoes too :0)

I think they're too short for leggings, but would look cute with jeans. Try this thread for some ideas on brands to try for apples: http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....?replies=5

Thank you! Good ideas. The thing is, because of my apple tummy, I'm struggling to find good and comfy jeans, and I also love leggings because of the comfort... but I realize I can't keep dressing like this! I've also never felt that jeans+tunics has been really "me", but after seeing these pics I realized I should at least give it a go! I guess it also depends quite a lot on what type of tunics one wears, and, I think I might feel ok with these! Thanks for helping me realize that's the way to go!

The floral one is slightly narrowed in the waist - it might be hard to tell from the pics? But I guess that's where I would put a belt, to further highlight that? Any specific looks on belts that could work? A plain black one, slightly wide?

I agree with CS. I think both tops would look cute with skinnies. You can belt the floral one and black top is open to many possibilities, statement necklaces, scarves, long earrings, you name it.

I think the black one would be cute worn with skinny jeans as a tunic. Actually, you could do that with the floral one too- especially if you belt it at the waist. Those look like tops rather than dresses to me.

Here is the first part of showing my current, pre-YLF, warderobe! I know nothing will be fab, but since I can't toss everything I own; are some things ok? Are there ways I could make outfits at least slightly fab-ish?

A little about me: I'm a 24-year-old student, and just want a warderobe of varied casual outfits, with elements that can be part of a clubbing capsule! I want a style that's
*Flattering
*Edgy
*Retro
*Comfy
... and preferably with a touch of *Londoner, since that's what I'll be from September!

I'm starting with dresses, in a few different posts. I know that probably all of them are too short (I've liked other aspects of them so much, and haven't had the patience to keep looking. Will do no more of that from now on, I promise!), but are there other things that work? Necklines, colours, patterns..?

(Please oversee my bad hairday!)

Here's the album (password: memfiz):
http://s646.photobucket.com/al.....%20pt%201/

The flower printed dress is too short, I know! But I really like the pattern... is there any way I could make alterations, say, have an underskirt sewn on? Or is it a complete hopeless case?

And the black dress is way too short! Have I even worn that as a dress..?! I like the neckline though!

I also really like the shoes in both outfits, what do you think?

(Sorry about the long intro Angie, I'll skip that in the other posts! Just wanted to give some info about who I am! )

I really appreciate your help and honest comments!
