So glad you kept the jacket! It's perfect for Florida and your style! The shirt isn't playing nice --- it's not a great fit, and seems to be neither crisp nor drapey. It helps me to see that I'm not the only one who has to search for the perfect shirt!

Hmm, maybe there is a real reason for my dislike of them all these years, founded in how they usually fit me! Aha!

#7 is my favorite.
Funny how I can do a button down, Brooks Brothers even, but they don't work on you.

That poor button front shirt thinks you're a man. Away with it! I love the moto though and can't see any armpit issues. I tried on a petite coat the other day (don't ask) and found the armpit on it was cutting into the armpit on me. Which is my round about way of saying that yes, petites are sometimes cut up higher in the arms. Love the Leith pants on you! Your body loves draping of all kinds, and it loves you.

Oh that's too bad that the color blocked shirt doesn't fit. It does look too big. The xs would have been better

I think a flowy buttondown works on you, like the black one I sent. And a structured fitted one would too, with a pretty neckline - this is just not it.

The moto is fantastic!

I love the look of the button down but think it is a bit big or the shoulders are a bit wide on you. Love the white jacket and the white skirt with tank.

You really look sophisticated in black, white, and nude/oatmeal. Can't tell you how much I like it.

I'm not sure, tho, if I can deal with you in a button front. It's mannish to me while you are so not in my mind. Lol.

I love the colour blocked buttoned shirt but think it looks too big on you. I can see the issue with the upper arm area - that would drive me nuts. I've struck this before and think it's to do with the way the sleeve has been cut. Any sewers out there may be more helpful if this can be resolved.

I LOVE the white jacket on you and are glad you kept it. The sleeve issue is not so noticeable here. Number 1 and 2 photos are my favs.

Suz, I think that's great too Orphans being rehomed.
I AM keeping the jacket. Was just really analyzing it before I did.
I think the shirt is going to have to go back. There is no petite size (wish there was) and I am NO seamstress lol. I have a fitted white button front from Express. I was just hoping to do colorblock for some fun this season.

EDIT: at least by playing around I found a new outfit I'm excited to wear when it cools (pic 7 & 8) even though it's kinda busy I really like it. I'd add my taupe/blush shooties if I was feeling sassy or my studded sneaks for kicky casual.

1/2 work. Love 7/8 and while I can see loose arm-pit on the jacket it doesn't look like too much, maybe even good for added bulk of sleeves under. Agree with you on the skirt combo.
I have the same problem with button down shirts that are not fitted. I don't know if going petite would work or not. I often tailor my button downs. I either de-ttach the sleeve and take the arm hole in (sometimes also taking in the sides at waist) and re-attach the sleeve or I add two back darts running along the back about two inches from the sides from hem to shoulder blade.

Well, first of all, today's outfit is great! You look positively glamorous in those Leiths and they are already seeing more wear than they did at my place, so I am completely delighted! I LOVE it when YLF works out like that.

(And you will soon see the reverse, when I pop your cashmere hoodie on almost every day for loungewear. It will need to be a bit cooler for that to start, but you'd better believe it will be a workhorse in my work-at-home capsule.)

I LOVE the white moto on you. It looks fantastic. The fit looks great from what I can see! If it's not uncomfortable, I hope you'll keep.

I'm less sure about the top, too. Something seems off about it. I will leave it to other more seasoned eyes.

I'm going to go from what I am now wearing backwards, to what I started with Some of it was just playing around. The knit tank over the skirt was just a trial run but it was too much volume in the wrong way in the wrong place lol. So I started changing, and changing, and changing.
But I do have a question on the colorblock button front. I have this ongoing armhole issue. Sometimes I don't know if it's because my biceps are too thick or the item is too big and therefore cutting across the arm instead of up near the armpit where it belongs. Maybe I just need petites in these things? Anyway, the white moto was one where I had armpit issues. But I think I am okay with it in a jacket more than in a shirt. I hike it up a little if I'm going to be reaching across my body, making the shoulder line raise an inch or so, so I can have better movement. Granted, you don't need to reach across your body constantly. I'm not doing yoga in the darned thing! But the shirt I'm a little less sure on. I feel like it has a lot of extra fabric across the back and around my waist. By contrast, you can see my dot shirt better follows my true waist. What do you think?
