Good idea! I need to go through my plastic containers and first of all make sure they all have lids. I have an overabundance because I keep the small plastic bins that lunchmeat comes in and use them for leftovers. However, they're on a bottom cabinet so the kids could play with them when they were/are toddlers which doesn't help with keeping them tidy.

It's very satisfying to have a tidy cupboard . Or I imagine it is! I need a few at-home days to sort things out. You made good use of the day.

I really do not store much in plastic containers, except for flour, sugar, spaghetti and sometimes leftovers. I just replaced my older Tupperware with newer sets. I ordered them online and the shipping costs were ridiculous.

Isn't it satisfying having a cupboard clear-out, Anne? I need to get mine in order, too. I re-use ice cream containers and the like, but I always seem to have more tops than bottoms, and they have a habit of jumping out at me when I open the cupboard - time for a sort out!

Yes, getting the right size is key, especially if you freeze leftovers as I do.
I have too many, but figure that around half will go with my 2 DDs when they leave home.

Nice! My 3 DDs use mine, and I plan to give the plastic ones to them when they get jobs and move out. I want to replace them with glass ones, in sizes I'll actually need once it's down to just my DH and me.

Very nice and tidy. Mine is overrun and yet with 4 people taking lunches I feel quite a few are needed.

I have the same issue Anne. I feel that I run out of the sizes I use most and have a bunch of too small or too big containers that are kitchen cupboard orphans. I am trying to no longer buy sets and rather focus on the sizes that make sense for my needs, i.e., small enough for lunch and large enough for leftovers.

It looks like your pantry is under control now. Nice work.

I took advantage of staying home today with my sick daughter to 1) cook up some beans and chickpeas my sister gave me when she went overseas recently and 2) tidy up a few of my cupboards.

My plastic container area had been bothering me for awhile and yesterday on the bus I was looking up solutions to it. I have looked at these before and almost all had steps which I had followed before, and followed again today.

But almost all of them (and even more so in the comments) assumed that one has too many containers. And I seriously do not. I am always running out of them, or more precisely, running out of the right size. The ones I like are the 200ml and the 400ml containers, just the right size to fit small amounts in, particularly for lunches.
So I'll be shopping for more!

This is my tidied cupboard (and I hadn't even put away the pot of chickpeas at that point - will have to use the take away containers for that)
