Whenever I run into a business that is not customer friendly, my active imagination wonders, are they some rich person's write off/way to offset their windfalls w/ a money losing business. Rich man buys his mistress a store, she clothes herself via the store, the whole thing's a big loss & write-off. Rich man finally figured out a way to write off his mistress's lavish wardrobe. (There are a couple of places like this in my town.)

I have found this problem with boutiques as well; I just go shopping elsewhere, or go post-call.

modgirl, that store sounds like a somewhat unique situation. I think the large majority of people shop on weekends and in the evenings, and most stores are open during those hours. If the boutique is only open during normal working hours, I would just go elsewhere.

I ordered the tibi dress as well as a Michael Kors strapless python print dress. They were so bad it was comical. I got a size 6 based some rec's to size up in the tibi. It was gigantic and didn't do anything for my bod.

MG: Did the Tibi dress not work out?

I'm sorry, but that shop has unrealistic hours and I can't see how they are even in business.

On that note, I just have to say that we are VERY lucky to live in the US for these reasons - you can shop till 9pm most days AND shop online. In Europe, things close at 6pm, and aren't open on Sunday and part of Monday - and many Euro countries siesta at lunch time!!! 35 hr work week.

Rae, it felt exactly like wedding dress shopping, like you had to have the secret password and know somebody just for the privilege of getting an appointment to shop there.

It's not you, it's the store!! Those hours are unrealistic and ridiculous in the extreme, and the fact that the website doesn't feature such basic info leaves me with serious questions about their business practices, which include their merchandise selection!
I know you work in a major city...are any of the department stores an option? They'd at least be open at reasonable times.

Are they open at weekends? When I was working, I always shopped either at weekends, or at stores' 'late nights' (typically until 8 pm on a Thursday in my local town).

Wow. I am not going to be of any help to you, as I would not personally spend any money in a place like that. :T It really seems like some stores feel they are doing you a favor letting you shop there, rather than being grateful for business. I was so frustrated with my own wedding dress search, that I made my own gown... are there no formal occasion stores in the malls near you? Could a seamstress conceivably whip something up for you by August?

I know alot of people here are on team store. How do you find time to go to an actual store? I am trying to psych myself up for a trip to a store to find a dress for a wedding in August. There are two boutiques in my neighborhood that specialize in formal/special occasion clothes. They are open 10-5!! Who can get there during those hours!! I stopped by one of them yesterday after work and they had no hours posted, no contact phone number, and their website also doesn't list these things. I had to search another listing site to get their phone number just to find their hours. Do they seriously think that everyone can take time off of work to go shopping?!? I may possibly have a chance to get there tomorrow after a morning doctor's appointment. I'm annoyed and frustrated already and I haven't even walked through the door yet!!
