If they're a light summer fabric, they'd make terrific knee length shorts, and you'd have 50% less plaid on your body if you cut them off. It might be fun to wear them full length a few times first. I was returning some items at LL Bean and they had these babies on the Signature sale rack. I remembered Una's search for the plaid pants in winter (probably a better time for something like this) I actually tried them on before purchasing (and still did) I think I thought at worst I could shorten to clams or bermudas? I am such a preppy I need to stop denying it, but these really look like a pair my mom made herself in 1975. I have not styled them (can they be?)<br /> Be brutal. I can return without a problem. They are a lovely seersucker, kind of boot leg, but a bit high waisted for me. Either tell me I'm nuts (NAY) or show me what to do with these. </p>
