And thanks for the tip, that looks very promising. And it's less expensive too. Bonus point is they seem to have rooms for four (three) people which are divided into two sections. Not that I don't like the guy who might join us but this would be a good solution to room together and keep the price low. I don't mind sharing the bathroom. </p> <p>Thanks Faith! We got the info that our group accommodation is within walking distance of Trastevere, whatever that means. Price is way lower for the week than for the two nights because they have some kind of appartment with lots of beds for groups, apparently. I'm inclined to try Daria's suggestion if the others agree, it might be nice to see a different corner of the city for those two days. I personally prefer hotels to Air Bnb in cities. I know people here in Berlin who had real problems because of flats rented out to tourists. It's also a problem because it takes away from people who need to live there. I don't want to contribute to that in other cities. If your group accommodations are well located, I doubt you will find anything for a better price. If you want to move to someplace more central, though, I would check Air Bnb for an apartment in Trastevere. I think February is actually the best time to visit, as the crowds are so few. I've just got green light for the fourth time. We're going to Rome next year in February! The trip will be Sunday til Friday, but there's an option of taking a flight back on Sunday instead for the same price. I talked with a friend and we'd love to jump at the chance for more sightseeing time. We will be two people (maybe a group of three). We could stay for two further nights in the place where we are staying with the group, which would be around 45€ per person and night in a double room. Or we could organize something on our own. </p> <p>Now my question is, do you have any recommendations where to stay for two nights? And do you have any idea whether it's realistic to try to find another place which is less expensive or costs the same? </p>
