Summer PJs are hot . I like to cover up too. So something very baring is best. I have not found anything that ticks all rather boxes yet. Except cotton or linen. Lace would be best if it covers the right areas.and is cotton. My meter is a concern. A big fan above the bed and an open window help.

I’m a fan of Garnet Hill’s Asian Wrap pjs. They come in various iterations…long pants, 3/4 pants, shorts, etc. 100% cotton, so soft and comfy. They wash and wear very well, in my experience.

I’m no help with retailers as I usually make my own pjs, but as far as fabric goes I prefer a brushed cotton fabric. I like the softness of brushed cotton, and it’s both moisture wicking for warm weather and provides a bit of warmth for cooler weather.

Staysfit, look at Gap and JCrew for poplin sets. I found the shorts to have a very short inseam but this pair was sufficiently long for me. I bought only the shorts.

Back to say I just looked up the European linen pjs from quince, they are $59 USD. A cropped pants, short top pj set made from 100% organic cotton from Printfresh is $158 USD and they do have a sale so it may be you can get them a discount,
The Negative Underwear slip dress made of “washable alternative for silk, 100% woven poly” for sleep is $128 USD, Bedhead PJ’s for cropped bottoms and short sleeve top run $108 on their website and are 93% cotton, 7% elastane or they have a 100% cotton option for the same price. I did not check the various PJ’s suggested by Janet yet. I ran out of time….

I’m glad I saw this post because I’m in desperate need of new summer pj’s. I purchased three pairs of Nordstrom brand at last years NAS and as elpgal states, two of the three pilled quickly and have worn out in less than a year. The two that pilled were the type she describes, cropped pants and short sleeves, and were a blend of tendril and spandex. The third was 100% cotton, but were a shorts set.

I may order some new pjs based on the suggestions here. I’m intrigued by the linen pajamas from Quince. I run hot when I sleep and linen sounds like a great option once it’s “softened”. I have even considered getting linen bedsheets for summer use.

A bit of a splurge, but so worth it are Pajamas from Printfresh. I am not one to spend a lot of money on Pajamas, however, I wanted a good quality cotton and loved the prints from this brand. I purchased a nightgown and am in love with the quality. I have worn them over and over and they wash well and look like new. They are organic cotton poplin. They are currently running a sale for the holiday. Here is a link:

Hello. I have the European linen pajama set from Quince. They are great. I got them when I started having hot flashes at night. I have multiple sets and wear them year round. The linen is stiff at first but softens up with a few washes. They machine wash and dry with no problem.

A PJ HEWI for me is longer shorts. I like them about mid-thigh and it seems like all the PJ shorts are quite a bit shorter. I usually end up buying pants and hemming them into shorts. I like t0 wear them with tees - luckily those are easy to find :)

I love love love my Bedhead pajamas! I bought the first set with a Nordstrom gift card three years ago and they are still going strong. You can get full length pants or shorts (or a chemise), and they come in a lovely cotton jersey or poplin if you prefer a woven fabric. I sleep hot and flop around like a fish, so I like a stretch fabric.

They have a WIDE variety of styles to choose from and are very well made.

I had this same issue in recent years. I’ve gotten super picky! I want cotton poplin type fabrications — most others leave me sweaty.

Gap actually has a cute set I got recently. You can get the pieces individually, which is good if, like me, you like the pants or shorts to be extra roomy but not so much the top. Pics 1-3 below. I got the short-sleeved top and pants in the green stripe.

Anthro also has served me very well with pajamas over the years. They’re not as inexpensive as the Gap, but they do seem to hold up well — I have a set that must be 7 years old. I recently got a pair of the 100% cotton Wren boxer-style pants (pics 4-5 show the pants and the shorts) in a stripe that I wear with an old Madewell tee. They are generously sized!

It seems like a lot of my old favorites (PJ Salvage, Splendid, etc) have moved away from poplin/cotton to Jersey blends, which are ok but not the most cooling in my experience. Bedhead made some great ones years ago — I still have a pair from 10 years ago that is getting a little worn but they’re still serviceable. I haven’t looked at them lately.

Good luck! Finding better sleepwear has made a big difference in this stage of my life.

PJs have become a HEWI. I like the short-sleeve top with cropped pants or shorts style. I have tried the Nordstrom and the Target Audrey brands but both pill within a few weeks of wear or run hot. I am turning 47 and sure I am peri-menopausal. So I am ready to switch up styles and brands.

What styles/brands do you all like?
