Wish I had her voice! </p> <p>Rae, I think it may have been the slanted bangs that gave my husband a moment's pause...his first remark was..."Well...it's DIFFERENT." But it only took him half an hour to warm up to the cut, which is pretty good for a guy who hates change. I tried a new top on for him (to be shown tomorrow) and he immediately noticed that clothes look better. </p> <p>And I love it because the bangs can go every which way, including up. Pushed in one direction they give the cut a sort of "mod" feel. Pushed another way they are more like the classic pixie. Pushed up and messed around I guess they'd be a bit punk. And since I'm a huge fan of all those looks, it's a pretty good deal for me. </p> <p>Jonesy, one of my first remarks to the stylist was: "Yay! I can wear earrings again!" I had saved some of my "statement" earrings from before and will surely acquire a few more. But it's nice that even the tiny ones become more visible. I have some really pretty, tiny studs that just got lost in the hair. They'll work well now if I also want to wear a necklace or scarf. </p> <p>You know how they always say "If you've worn your hair in the same basic way for the past five years, it's time to change it up." Well...it turns out I should just KEEP wearing my hair in the same basic style (with small updates). I'm taking Una's advice and now I have my signature back. </p> <p>Thanks, all. The stylist did just a portion of the first side, we both looked at it and said, simultaneously, "LOVE." </p> <p>And then she said, "It's like your hair wants to be short...it just falls into place as I cut it."</p> <p>Also, I felt like "me" for the first time in a long while. I really am happier with it short. </p> <p>This one is kind of a change for me because with the length in the bangs I can do different things with it; usually I've worn my pixies a bit shorter all over; this one's super short in back and sides with that asymetrical thing going on in front. </p> <p>My husband (who loves me in short hair) actually pulled a long face when I told him I was going to chop it; he had JUST got used to me in longer locks. But when I came home he said, Oh...I can see your bone structure again! </p> <p>Thank you, Angie, and all, for encouraging me to take the plunge. I feel SO much better having done this, and much more ready for my appearances this week. </p> <p>Tomorrow I'm going for a quick shopping trip to see if I can find outfits (or accessories) for Day 1 and Day 4.
