Kellygirl, I dont use another software app for tracking my wardrobe so using pinterest to put it somewhere where I can see it all at once is nice to observe overall trends. I cant take credit for the idea though, Lantana gave me the inspiration for doing it. The new SS 14 board I feel like I am actually getting to "distilling to the essence" as Caro puts it. Add Deborah in there and I am very Aussie inspired in my thinking! Haha.

Thanks Gigi! Dividing by seasons I think helps me see trends in my preferences and reduce the overwhelming factor. I rarely wear skirts/dresses in winter (too much hassle with all those hose layers etc) but love them for spring and summer.

Thanks for the Pinterest tip! I am like kellygirl and find Pinterest overwhelming. Dividing things up by season is a great idea!

I don't know what your board looked like before but this one really looks like your style! I love how you put the items you own on it. What a great way to keep track of what you have and how you might want to wear it. I had not thought of Pinterest in that way. I was on it briefly and found it overwhelming. You have me thinking I may try it again in a new way!

Thanks Rabbit and NDMom! Figuring out how i'd like to use pinterest is a bit of a process for me but I do like it as a tool.

Beth Ann, love the banded bottom top suggestion! Will be fab with the skirts. Also, I am wanting to add a crossover top but the one I saw at Old Navy the other day had the I will pill after 2 washings look about it! So waiting for one in a better fabric to present itself

Checked out your board --- these choices are excellent for your style and your, well, lifestyle! I saw the Patagonia asymmetrical hem skirt, too. I could see you wearing that beautifully. I'd watch for a couple of banded bottom tops, too, for summer --- they create a different proportion and are really cool, as well. Also, you have a lot of volume in the tops, and they're lovely. I think this works best when on of the lines is more tailored --- shoulder line and/or sleeves, for example -- for a little structure with the flow.

I spent a few hours last night cleaning up my main "my style" Pinterest board and starting an asiprational Spring Summer board for 2014 which includes items I already own, have on order, or things I can obtain this season, in my budgeted allotment. No inspirational pinning of designer runways that dont suit my budget or lifestyle on THIS board.

I am really seeing some themes develop versus the helter skelter I like a lot of eclectic things look on my main board.

http://www.pinterest.com/mtngi.....irational/

I know doing seasonal boards is old hat to a lot of folks, but also there has been much discussion on how to use pinterest to one's advantage and I found this quite helpful. Wanted to share and observations and/or style descriptors welcome

ETA: My initial observations are that I seem to be off of prints (with the exception of my one dress bought last year), and am favoring details sewn into the garment. And a very tight color scheme.
